I think a great thing about this series is that he doesn’t add music or sound effects to intense moments, where he keeps the journey original.

Hey joe, I was watch this video and I got to a curtain part of your video that really hit home! In one day this weekend I lost my girlfriend and my roommates abandoned me with a house I can’t afford. I got to about the 33 minute mark when your were on the lake when it was calm and you said something that really hit me! You said, “ Nothing seems overwhelming, it’s just happening.” You said you were overwhelmed at first but when with the storms come you went to your shelter and you said, “ you just let things happen. With that being said I fight hard with anxiety and depression, when you said that it couldn’t have been better timing in my life! Thank you for your videos man you help out in more then survival videos! God bless you and your family!

Mentally I am still dealing with a big battle, but things are definitely better! Me and my ex got back together and ended up with my beautiful boy! Unfortunately she is an ex again and I should have learned the first time... but life moves on! Thank you guys for all of your concerns! I’m actually working on following my dream at the moment of making music and trying to be the best dad I can be! So far everything seems to be ok!

I've been watching Joe Robinet for a few months now. I told a friend I liked watching this "random guy's" camping KZbin channel, and he recommended I watch the show "Alone". It sounded like a good show so I checked it out and--WOW--look who I saw! Total coincidence! I was like "OMG it's young Joe!"

I used to love getting out in nature. I never had a chance to go anywhere as wild as you do, but I enjoyed it just the same. Then I had a stroke, and I'm trying to recover. JUST A HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU JOE, to Doug Outside, and to My Self Reliance for inspiring me so much, as well as entertaining and educating me. After losing an entire summer due to injury where all I could do was watch videos of the great outdoors, it was fantastic to get back out to the bush and try to rebuild my fitness, and even try to record it to inspire my friends to do likewise. I am no spring chicken, but passionate, and have other nationwide ventures planned for the future. Yours truly, Dean, a lifetime subscriber. (I will forward this to the others personally to thank them also)

If you are doing subsistence living on just fish protein, you should be eating the entire fish. boil down the head making sure to get all the fat and meat out of it not just two fillet's per fish. The warm soup in Cold environment becomes addicting. U can still cook the fillets different ways while having the soup

Man. This is awesome. I hope I am the first one to fully agree with you on the plane thing. I commented before but i am a treeplanter. You do have human contact, but that is it. The outside world becomes a blur. You get this weird existential feeling when you see planes and hear planes. They bungee jump you back to the real world, the one that has business, people, death, life, liesure. And you remember your small existence in this world. How everyone in the city/real world is so far apart not necessarily in space, but in relation and relatability. I find that this makes the sound a constant thought in a place of dead stillness.

Wrong wrong wrong, brown rice does not have a greater nutrient value. It is simply rice with its outer husk removed. White rice just has a faster uptake than brown. Also you don’t need more rice anyways you need fats! Fat and protein are your body’s essential nutrients not carbs. And to the clown that says your not the brightest they can eat a big fat dick cause they don’t know a hell of a lot either

When you get still all alone in nature is when you find a type of solitude that cannot be beat. You can really have a chance to enjoy it. It's best to keep up with your chores after resting though, because missing one can also turn around and bite you. It is good that you think ahead on firewood and things like that.

Jimbo we were camping one time and my son had a diaper blowout in the tent. Which isn't as easy to clean him much less the tent without the benefit of a bathtub. We were on a 7 day trip and it ruined out moods so badly that we were bickering and miserable to the the point we screw it and left on day 3. Which was silly because we cleaned him up and packed up and loaded the entire camp in under two hrs..... But... If you're not felling it you're not feeling it.

Jimbo you should have pulled that patty out and struggled on bro. Ive coal cooked steaks and pattys but we humans view that as dirty. That bit of ash and coal would have actually made you feel better after you ate it. Try it sometime.

Hi Joe Im really enjoying watching this series, it makes a pleasant change to have you just relaxing around camp, cutting firewood and on the water fishing, normally you either paddling hard or on a portage 😉 Have you thought about getting a waterproof case for your go pro and doing some underwater shots ?? You could spend some time getting footage around the lake and review it that night for any sand bars or feeding areas. Keep up the great work 👌👍

Another great episode Joe. Only one thing, I don't want to see you like that again when you do this kind of trip. Take more food you would need to keep your energy high. Do not only count on food you may catch. This is painful to see you suffering. I really like you and everything you are doing but not at that price. You've got a family and these guys need you more an everything. Please consider that next time and do not take risks like this trip in the other lake with lots of bears. Anyway, I am waiting for next episode as this one is already over. One hour passed in few minutes watching you and then we have to way another 7 days or 7 weeks I must say, lol. Take care my friend and best regards from Finland, Pascal

Pascal Marie It’s more important because he’s such a skinny little fellow, if he wants to do trips with very little food he need some fat on him.
