I've been jonesing for a 4Runner from the time they first came out until now. Every one I test drove used (by owner) was a frame-rotted, mechanically neglected POS from the early-mid 90's. When I test drove a new one for the first time the other day, holy crap, what a difference. Instant love! I'd take one of these over a luxury car ANY day. Bought the SR5 Premium with 4x4, which I really didn't need since I live in FL, but now I have an excuse to go hit the back roads in the Ocala National Forest. Wooh!

Wow I think you made a solid choice. Yes this vehicle is old and it gets horrendous gas mileage, but you bought a vehicle that is meant to last even after the least is up: it will give you little to no problems, and it just has that Toyota build quality. Plus, you get that offroad capability. And yes it has character from the harsh ride quality, to the rugged look, the old 4.0L V6 with that 5-speed automatic, and the steering is very slow and truckish. Not a lot of vehicles ride like this anymore, and the 4Runner is one of those vehicles that I think is so different from many other midsize SUVs out there. I would be happy if Toyota still kept this generation 4Runner like this and sells it like this every year.

@@Zenergistagreed. On longer trips where I’m going 60-70 mpg, I almost always get 20-23 mpg. Thats not that bad. It’s city driving where it struggles, but if you’re mostly doing city driving, there’s lots of reasons not to buy this. The 4Runner is for cruising along on road trips IMO.

Exactly my friend it's a phenomenal strategy to get into high MSRP/High Resale value vehicles. Even if you're unable to purchase at the end or don't want to anymore, you should at least have positive equity left over at the end of the lease which effectively means you're driving new cars for next to nothing while never worrying about maintenance or repairs ever again. If you have a business to write off against then it's game over that's the ultimate hack assuming you talk to an accountant about it first.

Everything still worked on it after 15 years. Every little button worked perfectly. Other than brakes, tires, bulbs and fluids the only things replaced over the 15 years were the hydraulics on the back gate, driver sun visor and wheel bearings on the passenger front. Would love to see a KZbinr say good things about the Borrego, but it seems like there are no car tubers on the internet with experience with the vehicle. Just curious when you say MSRP are you talking about TSRP? Most of these SR5 premium have blackout packages where i'm from that cost $3,500(tires, TRD wheels, etc). So for instance $46,000 msrp plus deliver, handling, processing fee, $1460, plus blackout package, $3,500, would be $46,000+$3500+$1460=TSRP $50,960. It's confusing since Toyota implemented that stupid TSRP pricing. Wonder if people are paying under the actual MSRP eliminating the add on fees(e.g. blackout package, connectivity kit, crossbar, etc).

I was gonna do that lease with option to buy move, but nah I changed my mind. More money goes towards the balance if you just finance it, and they hold their value well enough that you can not get crushed if you change your mind and wanna get out of it in 3 years. So it’s kind of a totally different 3 year uncertainty strategy.
@MeynMotorGroup7 ай бұрын
With 5-8% interest rates on new 4runner financing, more money actually does not go toward the balance especially when you factor in the "front loaded nature" of financing. You pay more in interest in the first few years of the loan similar to a mortgage. But you're right tho, due to high resale value this isn't a terrible issue on a 4runner Low interest rate lease hacks really come into play for luxury cars that don't hold value well. That's where you have to pull out all the stops. You can be sloppy in how you purchase a 4Runner and still come out relatively ok.

@@MeynMotorGroup I’m just guessing but I think that most people want to wait for the 2025 (unlike me) and that is making dealerships push to clear the 2024s off the lots. @willienillie63378 ай бұрын
Invoice pricing? Several dealerships are dropping prices at about 5K for that model. Another youtuber Lenny was showing it on his channel a couple weeks ago. I guess prices vary depending where you live. Nice suv nonetheless.
@MeynMotorGroup8 ай бұрын
But what you don’t see that I mentioned here is the lack of garbage fees. Yea you might see 5k off but you need to peel back the onion and see the inflated dealer fees and add ons after all that you’re back to getting a marginal discount or none at all. Classic local dealer games nothing new under the sun.

Yes I wanted one without the moonroof as well then this model dropped on the lot and it had literally everything I wanted...but it also came with the moonroof. I caved and just pulled the trigger because I think it's going to be difficult to find a well equipped 4Runner without the moonroof

What about getting a Limited Kevin and having it retrofit it to smaller wheels? I like the trim out of the limited but like you I don’t like those big hard riding wheels and tires.
@MeynMotorGroup9 ай бұрын
Yea my friend it should be possible there is some front fender adjustment that needs to be done but idk in my opinion, the Limited looks a bit weird with the smaller wheels...I think it has something to do with the front bumper but if it's modified enough could look good

Great choice! Just viewed your new accord video & you mentioned it wasn’t fun but it’s reliable. I was looking to purchase one (I had a 2019 before and found it fun) but wanted to ask what other options should I look into similar to the accord? (Price and reliability wise) 23yr old male - I currently have a 2019 rav4 and it is very boring and i don’t like the transmission lol
@MeynMotorGroup8 ай бұрын
Ah gotcha yea the previous gen accord like what you had was def more fun than the new one. If you want fun you could look into the new Integra A Spec Manual comes with a hatch so it's practical leases for about 450 a month I think could save more if you did a one pay lease. Can hit up AC for more info. If you want to stick with Toyota, weirdly enough I like the Crown a lot. It's hybrid and AWD, Jim is offering 13% off msrp on those and lease is around 500 maybe less if you do one pay. If you can move up in budget about 800 a month can get you a new Audi SQ5 or S5 Sportback. But I think the Integra is best bang for the buck with the manual since you also get great fuel economy.
@NorthweSteelheadJunkies8 ай бұрын
Strongly disagree that the ride quality is inferior w/ 20" wheels and X-Reas Suspention. The Limited is a better value for features then SR5 Premium. Some folks don't like full-time 4wd in the Limited. You can easily put any wheel/tire on the Limited.
@MeynMotorGroup8 ай бұрын
Not my words my friend, Limited owners have shared the same thoughts for years now. It's not difficult to see why, massive 20" heavy wheels crash over bumps. Small light weight 17" wheels and a lot of side wall will of course help ride quality tremendously. All models use the same suspension except for TRD Pro, wheel size and Tire Pressure are the only things that contribute to difference in ride quality. It's nice that Limited comes with cooled seats but I never use them. Thank you and God Bless.

Congratulations Kevin on scoring a phenomenal deal on a gorgeous legendary SUV! I’m excited to work with Jim. I live in Dallas and want to buy a new 2024 Corolla LE gasoline sedan with the convenience package. Now Corollas with the convenience package are impossible to find in Texas. So buying it from PA and getting it shipped sounds good. Do you think Jim can get me invoice pricing on a new Corolla LE?
@MeynMotorGroup9 ай бұрын
No he doesn't offer crazy high discounts on everything. Mainly the trucks and 4Runners is what he has super high discounts on. Corolla is maybe 500 to 1k off you can check his spreadsheet on LH. Tbh, Camry might be a better pick I believe those have much higher discounts

Timely video. I’m currently looking at a new 2024 4Runner that has an MSRP of $54,400. It’s the color that I want and it has all the options that I was looking for (KDSS being the main option that I was looking for). The dealership has an “employee pricing” discount of $1,495, but as you mentioned in your video about most if not close to all Toyota dealerships, they try to offset that “discount” with other stuff like window tinting, nitrogen tire filling, etc. This dealership includes that package at a cost of $1,495, which is the same price as their “discount.” The vehicle is about two weeks away before arriving to the dealership, so I could negotiate that package off the purchase price, correct? If I manage to do that, what would you recommend to be a very good deal off the MSRP of the vehicle? 2K tops after negotiating off the $1,495 package, keeping the “employee pricing” discount of $1,495 and maybe negotiating an additional $500 off the MSRP? Any advice would be appreciated.
@MeynMotorGroup9 ай бұрын
Yea if you're negotiating on your own, I would go to that dealership's website, find the General Manager's email and email them saying You will buy that 4Runner when it hits your dealership at 2K off msrp and I don't want any additional add ons, fees, etc. aside from taxes, tags, and dealer fees. So 2k off MSRP out the door with taxes, tags, and dealer fees. See if they go for it all you can do is hope right. But if they know some local guy is going to buy at full price with add ons then it's over they won't budge
@paulira74078 ай бұрын
Thanks for advice. If I’m able to get the dealership $1,495 package removed and have the “employee pricing” discount in place, but not able to get any more off the MSRP, is that still a very good deal or would you only take the deal at 2K off MSRP?
@MeynMotorGroup8 ай бұрын
@@paulira7407 Nah it's fine no need to give up a vehicle you like in a spec you like over $500. If they're truly not adding anymore nonsense to the vehicle and you're able to get it at 1500 off and you like the car, go ahead and get it. I pretty much got 3200 off after Jim's broker fee and shipping 1500 off is not bad locally.

I just dumped my 2020 4Runner SR5 because the vinyl seats started cracking on the side. They lasted 4 years and 3 months. That is just awful quality. The main problem with this car though is the steering. It is so loose, it is exhausting to drive on the freeway.

Yea MSDS or One Pay only way you can get it to under 500 with all that included. Without it you’re looking at 556 a month for a sign but broker fee and shipping not included interest is about 4.6% still not bad, but MSD/One pay is the way to go.

@MeynMotorGroup6 ай бұрын
$560 is right with no money down to save and get below $500 you must do either 2 things which I talked about in this video and that is: put down multiple security deposits (refundable deposit to lower interest rate) or do a One Pay Lease which would be about $16,000 that you pay all at once to again lower interest

I ended up looking into it, Morimoto seems to be the best aftermarket headlight assembly you can get for the 4Runner. Best light output, best warranty, and DOT Approved. Will need to take the bumper off to install and costs a lot of money, $1500. But you are getting the best. I was personally satisfied with the light output of this 4Runner, no it's not Audi Laserlight levels but it more than gets the job done. I've driven other New cars that have worse light output than this 4Runner. But let me know if you get the Morimotos
