You speak the absolute truth about the overcomplexity of these power trains with almost zero upside. Have owned two T6 S90s, I love everything about the cars EXCEPT what propels it. It’s a superior product that’s missing a real engine that would deliver more power in a smoother delivery.

I own a 05 XC70 with a 2in lift kit, sitting on Toyo 2157016 A/T III tires. Car has 236k miles and runs super freaking mint. Thanks for making a video on this car! I think it's pretty underrated since people either opt for the S60 or SUV models, but I am really enjoying my 2018 S90. I've put 30k miles on it and it's still running like new. Passengers ride like kings with the massive amount of legroom and the drive quality is great even after years of potholes. Even though it's made in China, it's held up pretty well on daily drives. Great vid!

Otherwise, the car has been like a dream. The important parts have held up remarkably well.

Luckily I managed to get a warranty on all replaceable parts like rims, hoses, glass, etc, but you're definitely going to want that engine coverage as you never know what might happen or what condition the previous owner kept it in. Good luck!

Any car company that goes full EV will lose a large segment of the market. They simply are not that convenient. You cannot travel a great distance as we are used to. A large segment of the population lives in apartments and condos. The more weight the less range.

I agree ford is going to go bankrupt going full electric. They simply are not that convenient. You cannot really travel more than 300 miles and then wait hours to recharge, not practical. Even going full SUV is not good. I still like my sedans. SUV is nothing more than a new version of station wagon. EV is ok for around town if you have a good solar charging system.

I really like the drive, ride and the Swedish flair and design this car offers, but I just can't get myself to buy a Volvo that's made outside of Sweden, just doesn't feel right like giving a middle finger to its heritage, perhaps just get an early S90 when they were still made in Torslanda.

People who think it’s engine is a con have never actually driven it, i dont understand how the reviewer got those numbers, the consumption is indeed life changing (especially nowadays), people online and also myself are getting 48 mpg and this car is probably the fastest in it’s class too, a friend of mine who has a T8 XC60 only goes to the gas station once a month, indeed volvo would benefit more from being only eletric but the engine is not overly complicated as well since these kind of motors have been around for quite some time, and a N/A V6? I’m not a car reviewer but I never actually seen a decent N/A V6 apart from say a 370Z engine, which has it’s undecent unrealibilities on it’s own, drove a Dodge Journey and the consumption/engine was really bad, cars like the Hyundai Santa Fe and most of that niche look the same, maybe the honda pilot is the only one who actually looks cool with that engine.

Thanks for reviewing this car that should sell better. Volvo is going full-EV. Every new car introduced form the c40 on will be full-EV. And the c40 is the last of the current generation. The next gen will have a different look to the interior. I hope they knock it out the park like they did with this one. Expectations are high since they did such a fine job with this generation. But, yes, all new Volvos will be EVs. They'll keep updating these current hybrids but they won't make a new-gen ICE or ICE-hybrid Volvo.

The glove compartment falling was a problem. And would be a con. Other than that I like it way more than he is describing. The polestar is strange looking. My brother who doesn't like electric has a Toyota four cylinder Camry and we love the power. The gear shift which he doesn't like is cool looking and rare. Didn't even describe it had heated and cooled rear seats. On the infotainment what kinda buttons he would put at the bottom. I guess one is navigation. The price for me is the deal breaker. If I remember right the back seats come down easy. So if you like SUVs you might like this. On china assembling it that was news to me.

The next gen Volvo due out end of this year will be made in the USA for the North American market. Volvos factories are in Sweden, Belgium, China and the USA and some other countries. But the design and engineering are done in Sweden for all of their cars regardless of what factory assembles them. As for the car being made in China, it is what it is.
