To answer your questions, there was a contest held around the time Portal 2 was released to create a music video for this song. The video that was chosen as the winner was a stop motion video, and was criticized a lot for looking like a sock puppet.

Even though this song was pretty much for Doug Rattmann, considering we found the radio that played this song in one of his dens besides murals of his that featured lyrics to the song - it also goes so very well with Caroline's tragic backstory, and this video was _really_ well done. Anyway it's good to know that Caroline was with Chell since Portal 1... It's sad to know that Caroline's mind was corrupted by the GLaDOS' mind :( I almost cried, and Aperture Science keeps on making science 'til today and the fact that GLaDOS deleted Caroline's mind from her Disk it's such a shame, but in Portal 3 it's all gonna be clear.

Wow... I can't believe that this is the ONLY Exile Vilify animation about Caroline. I mean, a lot of the lines can also be used for her too, such as: "It takes your mind again" > How Caroline's mind was corrupted to be GLaDOS'. "You've got sucker's luck" > Self explanatory "Oh you meant so much" > Talking about Chell "Don't even try" > 'Don't even try' to get Caroline back. Just, stay GLaDOS forever. (Cave's mindset) And yes, I know there's more, but I'll edit this if I need to.

It certainly shows more originality than most of the garbage that was submitted. Yeah, the winner had nothing to do with Portal, but that's what made it original. Good sketches. You really captured the characters (ie flowers). My favorite part was when GLaDOS was activated, and you showed us what seeing through her eyes was like. I think you should've shown more reaction shots of Caroline as she was forced into GLaDOS. Ratman sketched her killing all the scientists that way so... Good job.

I really like this one. I'd hate to say "This is the best one", because they all reflect different aspects of the games and Portal storyline and have their own charms. But I will say that this is definitely one of my favorites.

@emildeadspacefreak In the second section of Old Aperture, the company is using homeless people instead of 'Olympians, astronauts and/or war heros." Someone in an orange jumpsuit means that one of the homeless people managed to get where they're not supposed to be (the offices), thus the sign.

@GeneralVasco Unfortunately I don't as I taught myself. If you do a google search you can usually find some pretty good tutorials along with the help index inside of the program itself. If you want to try something like what I did, investigate using layers. I put the base footage on the bottom layer and added my own pictures on layers on top of that. My advice would be search for tutorials on using layers, adding pictures and resizing pictures.

Before the 1970s everyone in the orange jumpsuit was a 'highly valuable' test subject. War heroes, astronauts, Olympians, etc. After that when they went broke, the test subjects were instead homeless people. The signs about the orange jumpsuit meant that if one of them had wandered into the 'office' areas you should call security.

I've deduced that Caroline is Chell's mother. Ratman is Chell's father, he was deppressed by the loss of his wife to making GLaDOS work. He brought Chell to take your daughter to work day, he makes sure Chell can escape in case something went wrong, which you can tell, it did. Oh yes, and Cave Johnson is Ratman's uncle, discovered thanks to some in game audio.

I think rattman was just a worker and caroline and cave were chells parents. They let someone adopt her because they didn't want a child to get in the way of their work. But since a worker adopted her it allowed chell to become a test subject.

i was just watching this and i realized that the different parts of aperture are dated. GLaDOS' original chamber is labeled 1992, and she killed everyone when she was turned on (which couldn't have been that long after the room was built, but judging by size, at least 15-18 years to build her). if Chell is going to be in ep3, the 999999999. at the beginning of portal 2 must have only been the run down version of 9 years, ending off in 2019, giving her 1 year to find her way to the resistance. :)
