The people that seperate themselves into religion and groups can corrupt the orginal beliefs and alter what was said (e.g. jw bible, kjv translation). So I recommed getting to know Christ, directly FROM the source not from people. People are unreliable, God is reliable. Pray, fast and reading the bible can help. @@OttoVonBonesmarckthen she was from a more lenient family. I never preached much at school, mostly I kept quiet, but I wasn't allowed to hang out with other kids. I remember when I was like 8 or 9 there was this kid I got along with, Sergio was his name, and I referred to him as my friend. My dad corrected me on that. He reminded me we don't have friends outside the congregation. If they are at school or work and are not JWs then they are working or schoolmates, or work or school associates but never friends. When you're raised in it this sort of thing is drilled into you. Mine was a more typical JW kid experience. Families that let their kids have worldly friends were viewed as bad families. The Caleb and Sophia videos are an idealized version of JW childhood, with the kids being more or less eager to preach, study, and separate themselves from their classmates. Even if they're nervous about it at first they're excited to do it in the end. That is not how it works. JW kids typically don't like the kids that act like Caleb and Sophia. Those kids have even less fun than the rest. Trust me, I knew a few kids like that. Their families were even more controlling than mine and they developed even fewer social skills than the rest of us.

Ok, I’m a Christian, raised in a Christian house. Not forced to be, faith is something you choose, not something you are forced to do. If a parent does that, they are teaching wrongly. Faith is considered and chosen by the child. The point of spreading the gospel is to give that consideration.

I kinda like how the whole series subtly tells kids not to reaspect their teachers. Like the teacher is always like join science club, enjoy the holiday party!!! And the kid is like.... Have. To ...resist..evil The teacher seems so nice and dedicated to her job. Wearing the science club badge or a Christmas jumper... but i bet to sophia it just feels like she's being taunted by what she can't have.

It's interesting that the school celebrates Holidays, on the 25th of Month, clearly in the middle of summer (I don't see any palm trees, so it doesn't look like winter in a warm climate) Why are they avoiding even mentioning Christmas by name? There are clearly Christmas decorations, but no snow, maybe to not make it too christmasy and festive. It's also interesting that in an episode about how you shouldn't be scared to be different, they made the main girls look like the most average conventionally cute kids ever, and the bullies are a bunch of stereotypical misfits and outcasts: a tall awkward one, an edgy tomboy and a little gremlin. I understand that it's not about appearance, but it muddles the message.

@daisychain3007 Жыл бұрын
It is all right to be different, as long as you are comfortable with it and are not bullied for it. Caleb and Sophia are clearly in a dilemma: they secretly want to be friends with their class, but are afraid of upsetting their parents, who teach them that being friends with "worldly," I.e., non-Jehovah's Witness people is wrong. Other children notice this and taunt them, particularly Sophia, for it. It is clear from this video that Caleb and Sophia would fare much better in a Jehovah's Witness school. It is sad e ough for adults to be caught in a dilemma in which they feel uncomfortable, but for children, it is heartbreaking.

@@shebosseeuh... I assume that's some kind of "positive" message from your book, or a message justifying the separation between JWs and everyone else. I'm here to tell you, it doesn't matter what it says. Shunning is still a thing, and Jehovah's witnesses still think non-believers are unholy and not worth salvation. Those two things guarantee a toxic in-group. Hell, in the show this is covering you can't celebrate anything. In other episodes they couldn't play with toys, hang out with people, eat certain things, go to certain places. It's a guaranteed way to make the members think of the out-group as a threat. PS. You should really stop interacting with this comment section. We all have many more experiences with Jehovah's Witnesses than just you. You can't change anything by citing a book that is used to justify the actions of non-credile people. Actions speak louder than words. They always speak louder than words.
@shebossee Жыл бұрын
@@jewels3400 Did not Jehovah God commend Job for shunning what is bad? "He is an upright man of integrity,*+fearing God and shunning what is bad.”- Jon 1:8 If we ( Jehovah's Witnesses) thought that non-believers weren't worth salvation then we would be out of line with the required standards to please God. We do our best not to appear self-righteous-Rather than look down on others as if we had the right to judge them based on our own standards, we keep in mind that Jehovah is “the Judge of all the earth.” (Genesis. 18:25) Jehovah has not entrusted such judging to us. In fact, Jesus commands: “Stop judging that you may not be judged.”-Matthew 7:1. We celebrate lots of things: we just don't celebrate anything that bring reproach on Jehovah God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says "Therefore, whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God’s glory."
