@myowncomputerstuff9 ай бұрын
You can break it down line by line. 9:52 *"And that's why I chose a red panda for my mascot in this channel-"* A mascot can simply be a mascot when its representing a sports team or a KZbin channel, but when you're puppeteering this anthropomorphic animal mascot to convey YOUR personal emotions and expressions as you speak, it seems an awful lot like a fursona or furry avatar. *"NO. It's not because I'm a furry. I'm not a furry, I promise."* Denial. And redundant assertions for emphasis. *"It's because I'm making for this idea... of... having your own pet panda... in paradise."* Deflection. And nervous pauses. *"And I thought a red panda would be very fitting because it's... ya know it's... eh, I like them."* Red panda are not biologically similar to pandas. It begins to become apparent that he chose a red panda because HE likes them, nothing to do with JW. *"I like red pandas, they're really cute"* 🤷♂ The bashful shrug says it all. You think they're a cute and endearing creature, and you are embodying their cuteness by shaping your avatar in their likeness. Furry.

Just a heads up, not everyone in a wheelchair is paralyzed; I'm a wheelchair user and I am not paralyzed, I use a wheelchair because of a joint and muscle instability causing condition. It really irks me that they keep using old people who are disabled, or young children with disabilities, to drive their point. I personally believe that a lot of children and adults with disabilities can still live great and happy lives, and it always bothers me when people use us as a way to convince people to 'get saved' etc. I grew up Baptist and my mother always wished the rapture would come but i didn't want it to, because i wanted to grow up and make my life successful and happy. My church in particular sees disabilities as a sign that you or your family sinned and God is punishing them until you get to heaven where you will be forgiven and healed etc. It is all so stupid and really hurtful to disabled people. Yes, being disabled is painful and hard, but you can still be happy and enjoy life, it isn't sentencing you to a life of misery necessarily lol. But yeah, my family wants the rapture to come so that the whole family (who have genetic issues) can be healed from their medical conditions. I'm glad i became non-denominational, they are a lot less judgmental and the church I'm at now doesn't believe the bible says anything about being gay, so we actually have many gay members which is wonderful! My Baptist church believed in door knocking, so i was out with my parents in a stroller until i could walk(when i used to be able to walk), knocking on doors in a pretty unsafe city in the USA. When i turned 10, I was allowed to knock on doors alone. They also believed in baptizing kids as soon as they could remember that jesus died on a cross. That was sometimes two or three-year-olds, sadly. I was baptized around 7 years old, I was too scared of the water beforehand and i was 'old' to be baptized. They also believed in women only being allowed to wear skirts or dresses, and any music with electric guitar or drums was satanic. I had to babysit kids during service from the time i turned 10, but i actually preferred the weeks i babysat in the nursery because it meant i didn't have to sit through sermon and be judged for the way i looked. I am so thankful I am out of that environment- I got diagnosed with OCD a while afterwards because I had been so anxious about every thought i had or action i did, and i would do all these things every time i sinned to get forgiveness and spare my family from being killed (i thought they would be killed by God), including random movements i incorporated that weren't part of the religion, but that I felt i had to do because a voice inside told me to. Lol this is why it's dangerous to tell children the voice inside is God. I still struggle with my OCD to this day and it is truly a painful thing to heal from. I wish more people saw how culty Baptist Churches are, most people seem to see them as a more normal religion... I also hate when people with disabilities get used as inspiration p *** rn because it makes it seem like our only purpose is to make others feel good about themselves for helping us etc. and this also gives me those vibes, because they get to feel good that one day, that child will be in 'paradise' and healed, when instead, they should focus on seeing them as a full human and making accessibility in the now better so that they can have a good life NOW, and maybe let their kids go to college so they can become doctors to help the disabled people. I also find it funny that they discourage college- if everyone became JW, who would become a doctor to help sick or injured people?! It's all so hilarious to me. Also, what disabled child would draw themselves as healed regularly? It seems so unhealthy, one of the best things you can do for lifelong disabilities is to accept it as part of you, and that includes portraying yourself with your disability (I've been to a lot of therapy for this specifically, can you tell haha, any drawings or paintings of myself now include my wheelchair), and it makes me sad that the girl is being told to look forward to paradise because she will be able to walk. Is walking really so grand, that it is a selling point for a child to let their future and opportunities be stripped from them?! I really don't feel like it would be convincing, at least to me. Then again, it doesn't sound like they tell the child everything they are signing up for, do they?
@ComedyPlastic2 ай бұрын

bro I’m an ex Catholic but this hit so hard. I went through a hard time during covid, and I started becoming more fervent in my faith because I thought that was the answer to peace. Lo and behold, I started becoming extreme, and I even went as far as trying to advertise/preach the gospel in my zoom classes and to my friends. Whenever I heard my peers get good grades or talk about their futures, in the back of my mind I thought that I shouldn’t try to do the same as them because they’re non-believers (which means they’re evil) and I shouldn’t do the same things they did. I thought I was extremely righteous for spending more time in prayer than caring about my “worldly” future. Basically, I left the church because I realized that my “love” for God wasn’t really there, and I was just scared that I was going to go to hell for my sinful life. And I feel bad for anyone who lost friends and time in this religion. No one should be eternally punished for their human mistakes let alone whether or not they believe in this religion.

I mean, in heaven, everyone is supposed to be happy, right? But people wouldn't be happy if they were always in danger of being eaten by tigers! Tbh I’m glad I heard about JW later on in life because when I was 10 my cousin, whom I was very close with and was born the day a few hours after I was, passed away in a wreck. It killed me and changed my perspective on life. If I would’ve heard that if I died I could be with him in a paradise forever I probably would’ve became a JW on the spot. It’s sick how they use heartache to manipulate people into joining there cult

It really doesn't make sense when you think about it. So, god has the power to make a perfect world where everyone is happy; no diseases, no death, no war, no food chain, etc. but instead, he decided that we should all be miserable and live our existence like it’s some kind of test/exam which is ultimately pointless because he predestined some of us to pass and most of us to fail. What kind of psycho would do that ? If god is real, he has the maturity of a 12 y.o playing the Sims and experimenting with humans’ pain and suffering.

Writers giving their characters lots of trauma and sad back stories for character development:
@zoemanc7 ай бұрын
The reason that wars and all the bad things that happen are the consequences of sin, the sin that happened beacuse Adam and Eve disobeyed God, so after that all the bad things that started happening where all our fault since we are descendants of them, and God simply let Adam and Eve live outside of the perfectly good garden they where supposed to live in. And yes, this life in this fallen and corrupted world is a test of our faith in God, that besides everything we persevered until the end. And its not really predestined beacuse God gave us free will, sure God is Omniscient and Omnipotent, he knows everything that happened and will happen, it’s our choice if we start to better ourselves and try to be a good person avoiding sin as much as possible for Him and for us, or if you conform into this world and stay just the way you are, you do have a choice. For example Judas, God and Jesus always knew Judas would betray him and end up killing him, but even though Jesus knew this, he didn’t treat Judas like a traitor and rubbing it in his face even before Judas thought of betraying him, Judas had a choice, and he made the wrong one, after betraying Jesus he killed himself, and at least in Christianity, suicide is one way ticket to hell, if you commit suicide there is no unmaking it and sadly be tormented forever in hell, beacuse it’s seen as throwing away Gods gift of life.

also I would like to compare God to an writer, when you create a world and characters you know everything about them and everything that they would do and everything that will happen to that world and people is at your decision and will. Sure in their perspective they are making or given a choice but in the eyes of an witter all is according to their desires at want kind of story they want to tell.

Maybe the resurrected Non-JWs will be kept as slaves? ;) "It's your choice: Either you submit to our religion or do farm work for us for all eternity!". I mean, the old testament does contain rules about keeping slaves, right? The GB will find a way to put it in a different context.

What about aborted babies, or babies who died at birth, handicapped children, do JW’s revert to a “perfect “ age? Children never grow up? No one has sex? Imagine living the rest of your life on that earth! NO! I want to be with God. Heaven is promised to all who “persevere through the end” What do they think..Christ and those ridiculous 144,00 will visit? Or will they be like Governor, Mayor? It’s all so unbelievable. In My Father's House are Many Rooms …2In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am. 4You know the way to the place where I am going

@@JustMe-jx9np You know, it would be pretty nice if people would stop hating on all Christians just because JW Christians (which are a VERY small percentage of Christians) set a bad example. Believe me when I say this, MOST CHRISTIANS ARE NOT LIKE THIS!! It’s just that JW puts a bad image on Christianity as a whole.

Me personally, as a guy who is physically disabled, I would love to live in paradise, especially living in a world we have right now, paradise seems very nice. The ability to do things like a normal human would be a wonderful thing to experience, not going to the doctor because your health is perfect perfect perfect would also be nice. And with the world we live in, living in a world full of peace and prosperity would be great tbh. The concept of paradise gives me a lot of hope honestly. Idk that’s just offering a perspective from some whose disabled and is a JW

It's super disturbing to me that in the video where Zoe is sad because her nan died, Sophia's parents reaction is "this is how you can convince her in her grief that Jehovah exists" rather than any variation of "oh no, that's so sad! Here's how you can comfort her and be a good friend for her." It's literally all about the religion to them.

So, JWs think that we stay dead, unless you are anointed, until Jesus comes back? That is actually what the Bible says. All these Jews and Christians think that your loved ones are looking down on you in Heaven when they die. That's not what the Bible says. It says that everyone who ever died is still dead and is waiting for Jesus to come back. I just can't believe that JW has convinced so many people of this. I mean, if Jehovah kills 99.99% of all humans that have ever lived, he is evil. Insanely evil.

This is a random thing, but thank you for pointing out the Steven universe-ness of the last music video’s art style. I think in one of the scenes there’s even a teddy bear wearing his iconic shirt. It makes me laugh bc now we know there’s at least one witness at bethel that watched and seemingly based their art style off of one of the gayest cartoons in existence lmao

24:25 "Keep your eyes on the prize" (song number 222 in my time, I remeber it well) was one of my favourite songs. I'm incredibly shy, you don't even imagine how shy I am, you'll never see me singing in a karaoke, or in public with my headphones, but when I was a kid/teenager in the kingdom hall, I used to sing it with great joy and pleasure. This point everyone must concede: in terms of music, JWs are way ahead of most christian religions. Gospel music can't even scratch those songs. Glad that the emotional manipulation they try to pass through those beautiful music was weaker than my rational brain.
