Thanks for the info on the Exmark mulch kit. I just purchased a Exmark Radius S series, and I think I am going to keep my 2007 Cub Cadet GT 2550 which has gator blades and a mulch plug for fall clean up. Can't beat the cut of an Exmark. My Cub which I bought new has 500 hours on it and is still in great shape. I was thinking of getting the mulch kit for the Exmark, but due to cost of kit I think I will pass. The Cub Cadet does a good job on the fall leaves just not as fast as the Exmark would. Love my Exmark with the adjustable soft ride seat. What a great invention. I too live in Michigan, one more leave mulching should do it for this year. Have a safe and enjoyable fall and winter.

Best to have 2 mowers. I with a kit and one with a vac system/side discharge. Best set up. I have a Staris 52 with mulch kit and a Lazer Z 52 with ultra vac / side discharge. Awesome combo.

I have a backup 66” exmark that has a mulch kit on it. This mower in the video is my main more and inside discharge with it. In the spring and fall I will throw my bagger on it. 👍🏻

Have you ever used Gator boades with that set up?

little tip for anyone installing the micromulch kit (or probably any other manufacturers) remove the blades before you start, you'll be changing them anyway. It gives more room to work, less chance of cutting your arms or fingers (assuming sharp blades) and it also gives you an open area to scrape before you install the baffles. I've run exmark for 22 years and think their mulch kit is the best one out there.

I cut mulch kit year round with my clients. I lift the deck if it’s wet and double swipe and usually it’ll have a good finish. To me it’s better because it doesn’t leave behind the grass trail. Especially good when cutting around pools or areas you don’t want grass thrown into. It does require more time but mulching blades will do a good cut year round. Wet grass is almost unbearable your right but if planned accordingly that isn’t a big issue

Yeah, unfortunately I’m in situations where a mulch kit won’t work. Overgrown grass, wet grass, extra .

Question. Do you charge extra for mulch cuts or because that's just how you like to operate you charge as a regular mow?
@MrTap862 жыл бұрын
@@michigan_616 same charge

Can you use hi lift blades with the mulch kit on?
@douglaslawncare28432 жыл бұрын
You can but I wouldn’t recommend it.

What mowers will this fit? I have a 2008 ish 66inch exmark lazer z xs
@douglaslawncare28434 жыл бұрын
This mulch kit won’t fit that mower. My backup mower is the same mower that you have! I love it and I also have a mulch kit for that mower. They connect differently to that mower.

@@douglaslawncare2843 can you drop a link to where you bought the one for your backup

I bought it with my mower. You should be able to take your mowers id number to your local dealer and they should be able to get you a part number.

Sure wish Exmark had something to mulch pine cones, I can handle the grass and pine needles but the pine cones are a endless battle in my yard. I have 13 huge pine trees, wish I could have them all cut down and the stumps grinded but that would cost thousands.
@douglaslawncare28432 жыл бұрын
Does any mower mulch pine cones? If so, that would be news to me.
@darktoadone50682 жыл бұрын
@@douglaslawncare2843 No but I can dream I guess, I usually have to make multiple passes over the pine cones to get them chopped up fine. BUT I finally broke down and bought me a pine cone harvester from Bag a Nut, so far it's doing a great job. It was pricey but it's a great tool to have.

@@darktoadone5068 A bagger might work, run over the areas with the pine trees. Then take it off
