The churches bottom line is money and control. Everything else just secures and drives the goal. I’m not sure why people don’t see this correlation, it underlies every aspect of the history. Every time the church couldn’t completely control a town or community, it would become so corrupt that they were forced out of the area. This is why Utah was such a success, they could establish complete control over the entire area because they were the only ones there, outside of a handful of native tribes.

I guess if you have majority (like the jews do in Israel) and people are knocking at your door (to come after you -which is why the saints had to flee west, because of murders, persecutions, etc) then a more homogenous group like that - tends to have the same values than another with more of a mix(which would go for any religion or ethnicity) The church does have a lot of resources true (but it gives a lot away) and does better with it than our government too.

I used to watch that, but I thought it was odd that everyone else in the room got emotional over it.

Maybe they felt the spirit and significance to them (vs others who perhaps couldnt relate because they werent members, or didnt feel persecuted for their beliefs). It comes down to faith, experiences and perseverance.

Id like someone to produce some evidence that joseph discussed the first vision sometime prior to the 19 years later. The movie is trying to make it fit the nsrrative. Even it is not supported by contemporary sources.

Good thought. (perhaps he did talk about it - with his family, friends) but not so much with the outside world (which was very hostile to joseph, even as a 14 year old kid).

@@nute742 how do you know the outside world was hostile to him? Any outside sources other than his own words? Before the first vision there were complaints filed against the family by neighbors saying they were swindlers and dishonest and lazy. But I'm sure that was Satan's plan all along to besmirch their character and make them seem less.reliable. One would think if he mentioned it to someone, there would be a record. But not a word. And the church has no sources of him telling anyone either. Yet they portrayed him as telling people in the church movies. And Joseph despite being told none of the churches were true.and not to join any actually did join two(?) churches after he was 14. At least one but i thought it was two. But I'm sure that was Satan's plan to confuse people.

What movie is this man talking about? And who is he? Is he a film-maker?
@ubermormon96119 ай бұрын
I’m talking about the move that the kids church put out about their founder. The film is called the restoration. And I’m a nobody

Wasnt the bible written 100s of years later (after it happened)?! lol - I guess we should be suspicious of that too?

What's suspicious is how you think any of this BS you're spouting makes sense

I dont think anyone in that area had the skill to write a book that surpassed shakespears vocabulary count. Noone. Not even a farmer boy. Not even the smartest man in yhe whole continent.

And it came to pass
@nute7425 ай бұрын
Yes, for a "farm boy' he sure did an amazing book (whether you think he did it on his own completely or had help, if you know what I mean).
