If you watch the Mandarin version of "Miracles in December" you will see that Luhan takes over for D.O. Luhan was the second main vocalist in EXO-M. Chen and Luhan are both EXO-M members so they sang the Mandarin songs, and to round out the vocals Baekhyun subbed in as an EXO-M member. :D You should check out the Chinese version to hear how beautiful it also is in Mandarin. (In the Korean version you see D.O., Baekhyun and Chen as the singers because they are EXO's main vocalists and they are all native Korean -- even though Chen is a member of EXO-M. To round out the vocals SM decided they needed all three of them to create the right blend of their voices and harmonies. In the EXO-M version they put Luhan in the mix because, as the only native Chinese one of the trio, it would be pretty weird if they didn't use the main vocalist from the Mandarin sub-unit in that version of the song. Plus, Luhan is the only one of the three that speaks fluent Mandarin.) EXO's winter albums are their ballad albums, so all of their winter songs are really beautiful. You should check out all their winter songs. Up until last year, EXO released a winter album every year and that album was the complete opposite of their other album from that year. But last year and this year they didn't have a comeback until really late in the year, so I guess SM decided a second album in the winter would be too close together. Which makes me sad because I really look forward to their winter albums because its a totally different side to EXO then what we get in most of their other songs. If you noticed in this MV, Xiumin was the one that made it snow. Xiumin has the power to control ice/frost/snow, so any time something has to do with these weather elements they will focus on him. In the MV you see Xiumin in the red sweater and the black vest with the lapel pin that is shaped like EXO's logo, step outside and look up at the sky and at that moment it begins to snow. It is thought that the members' powers are tied to their emotions so when Xiumin is sad or melancholy, he almost can't help it and he will make it snow. And as you also saw, Tao is the one that turned back time and then instantly brought time back to the present again, because he has the power to control time. The snow was falling in reverse at one point because Tao was rewinding time. Then you see everything pause for a second and the snow starts falling down again when he brings everything back to the present. You also saw during this MV that there was an eclipse. Eclipses effect the members powers and it is also where they gather strength, etc. This even happens in live performances. You will see instances of them using their powers to even control things that happen on stage during live concert performances. Suho makes it rain on stage, Xiumin will make it snow, Chanyeol will control fire, Chen will control the thunder and lightning, Baekhyun often makes the lights go on and off, etc. If you keep this all in mind when you watch any of their MVs or live performances, its kind of fun to search for the instances where they are using their powers. In some MVs and songs the members use their powers more than others, but at least one member will use their powers in almost everything they do, it just might be more subtle some times than others. So its just another element of EXO's performances that make watching them unique. "Miracles in December" is a kind of breakup song that is about how the holidays makes you nostalgic for that loved one that you are no longer with. It makes you remember all the good times and makes you wish you were together even though you know, deep down, you are better off now that you have broken up. All the gifts are supposed to be what they would have given to their girlfriends if they hadn't broken up before the holidays. "She" was a different girl for each of the members, and "she" was not meeting any of them, she was a memory of a past relationship that was no more. That's why Tao turns back time for a moment to relive being in the relationship, but then quickly returns to the present because he knows deep down he is better off and that you really can't go back in time and expect to fix everything in the relationship. That's why they are all sad and crying because they are heartbroken. I like to think, for example, that the puppy was probably going to be a present for Kai's girlfriend, but now that they have broken up, it just reminds him of her. its kind of a bitter sweet memory. :D It is also often thought that the "girl" that EXO sings about and/or the one you see in their MVs is a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life. That is why the members are always trying to protect the girl or are talking about being in love with the girl but knowing that they are bad news for her, etc. Everything EXO does ties into their storyline, so when you think of the girl as part of EXO's origin story you might be able to see parallels to their mission and an even deeper hidden message in their songs and MVs.

It is a beautiful song Exo's ballads are killer They have songs that make me cry whenever i listen to them Like Miracles in December, there is also Promise and Universe and Sing For You In general, they're called Exo's winter songs. And i didn't name all of them, they just have sooo many and they're all good If i could make a request it would be their song Promise. And you definitely need to check out the lyrics too. It is their most "painful" song in my opinion because.... it's a song that is meant for them, for us exo-l and for the unspoken promise we hold "we are one" "Promise" came out around the time i wasn't their biggest fan because i was still getting to know them, but i heard of their 3 members leaving the group and i couldn't stan anymore because i would always cry when i remember the sad reality... but then i heard this song... and it made me one of their forever supportive fans because of how sincere it is. I also recommend „Baby don‘t cry“ it‘s one of their really old songs and it doesn’t have a MV but everyone knows that song it‘s really popular because it‘s so freaking good. This song is indeed a masterpiece that until now, always being played in Korea every Xmas. When they first released this song, I cried because it is so beautiful. As an EXO-L who have witnessed their humble beginning and before EXO-L fandom was officially established. Their songs Miracles in December, Don't Go and Promise were really strong, powerful and meaningful to us. It also brings back memories of EXO since OT12. I really can't stop being emotional and cry a lot with flashbacks of them performing even itvwas raining, their 1st win and crying moment at the backstage and the painful event of 2014-2015. Gosh.... Actually the song "promise" is a really special song for us exo-ls...im exol since their first debut...i was only 12 and I've grown up to 20 with their songs...i smile with their smiles..i Lough with them and i cry a lot in these 8 years...but Promise is the song i always cry with...after listening to it for thousands times...couse when they first air it, we (exo and exols) were in a really hard time...we lost our beloved members and all the happy times of ot12 was making us cry...the song is about that time...that we are together after all hard time and we are strong even when we are so weak that time...so...it is a really special song for exo and exols...even new exols that didn't experience that hard times with us, just by watching how emotional they sing and they cry while singing , they can understand the pain...💔

What's with people comparing the sadness of songs? Ofc every song hits differently for different people. If you were here from ot12 days, Miracles of December always has that spot in the heart. Also MID just gives the best chills, especially that bridge. The main vocalists of EXO in their second year of debut really DID THAT. - Promise is a ballad composed by Lay. It's about the promises of EXO always being on stage one with the fans (like a reassurance since 3 members left) - Chen and Chanyeol participated in writing the lyrics with Lay. - The K version meaning is more directed to EXO Ls while M version is directed towards the ex members (they were all Chinese from the M group) - Paper cuts is a ballad by EXO CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin) - The song was released before Xiumin enlisted in military. Please react to this live stage, it's again very special to us as we send off Xiumin, the first member of EXO to enlist.

A very emotional to us, EXO-L. Please listen to EXO-Promise(black&white). It was composed by EXO, themselves, specifically, Lay. He wrote it in Chinese and was translated by Chen in Korean. The rap part was created by Chanyeol. I believed that everything to this song, from the lyrics, tune, and everything was made by EXO. If I'm not mistaken. It's dedicated to EXO-L. It's about us being one. Through this song, it comforts the hearts of the EXO-L. It's because of the three Chinese members(Kris: EXO-M former leader and member|Luhan: former EXO-M member|Tao: former EXO-M member) that left the group that made EXO-L in chaos. Some were unhappy that led to disappointments. It also shows how EXO felt about this situation. I just wanna say "WE ARE ONE, EXO!" 💖💖💖

What you felt, I felt it with another EXO song from the same Christmas album, It's called "My turn to cry" but chinese version. At the very last part of the song you can hear sweet LuHan's voice saying "Wo ai ni" ...i was like in shock with my heart bleeding while crying.... I cried when I heard this song too without even knowing the lyrics.. the melody, their amazing voices are full of emotion, the piano and violins plus their harmony is so perfect.. when I saw the lyrics I couldn't stop crying too.. its the song being so beautiful more than it being sad. Their music often takes me to a diff place when I close my eyes. Its my favorite EXO winter song. CHEN, BAEK and DO are the vocal trinity of EXO. If this made you cry, I suggest you to react to EXO's Promise Live. There's a video lyric too. Promise tackles about the hardships the group went through when the members left. The message of the song conveyed that even though they promised to stay as one, hence their slogan, "We Are One", members have left and they couldn't keep their promise but even so, they asked the fans to believe in them and they thanked EXO-Ls who stood still and strong despite the circumstances. The song is a form of gratitude for the fans and for everyone. This is getting lengthy but if you wanna learn more about them, promise would be good because it is one of the intimate songs that talked about every struggle they went through.
