is the servo esc controlling ONLY the winch & you have a separate esc controlling the truck itself? anotherwords you have 2 esc's onboard if Im understanding this correctly? if so how do you get your radio(🎮) to connect to 2 separate esc's? I feel like Im thinking into this to hard & my brains like fried lol. it appears your running 2 esc, 2 lipos one being a mini lipo & all on 1 controller 🎮?

So your running the 1060 off the 3rd channel? If I'm running a 1080 couldn't I just run the servo directly to the 3rd channel and use my 3rd channel from my gt3c and not have to worry about an extra eac and wiring?

I did this tonight, trx4 is running a Hobbywing fusion 2 in1 1800kv, i had a spare Hobbywing 1080 laying about, so i fitted it, turned the BEC up to 7.4v, my servo winch is way stronger and faster now.

Hey dude, Am I completely wrong or is it right that you power the winch with 3s power? If it is a servo winch, wouldn't it only take 5V max? Thanks

Nice . I still like to power my winch on a dail knob ..on my radio...that way I can controle the speed of the winch. Never like a winch that always goes full speed. Pulling a truck out or some other truck out of a ditch or mud..controlling the pulling speed is more realistic.

Thank you for your video. I have one question I have a stock trx4 sport. So I hook up the motor to the motor wires, plug the power wires into the red plug on the side of the esc and the receiver plug into the receiver. I don’t have shift servos. Do I take any wires out of any plugs that go into the receiver? And if I don’t what could happen? Hope this isn’t to confusing. Thanks

yes you can power this from the JST on the stock esc, yes you can pull the red wire out of this esc to the receiver. In some cases I'll measure the output voltage to the receiver and if both match up at 6v, they can work together, if the voltages are different, like 5.5v on stock esc and 6v on the 1060, pull the red wire out of the XL5 esc and let the 1060 power the servo, the 1060 has a better internal bec than the xl5 so it would help out your servo a tiny bit.

I use a whole different controller for my winch controller and I use the proportional throttle for bettter winch control so it’s not so fast 👌🏻👍🏻

True it is a bit much using two controllers but the esc i use for the winch is a 2 in one so no choice until i get a proper winch control.. unless you have any other suggestions?

Thomas Pederson usually any radio with a 3 position switch can work a 1060 esc for winch operation. I use the Flysky gt3c hacked for 8ch. It’s momentary so it defaults to the hold position.

Brad P you would hook it up exactly the same way you hook up the original yes see but instead of the power wires going to the motor they will go to your winch wires jump it to the main battery everything the same way just winch wires instead of motor wires

I have a DX6R and I don't think I would need a Hacked controller to do it...

Yeah so far that DX6R seems to be a great radio. The GT3c can also work a winch in stock form from what I've been told. Cost wise the Hacked Flysky is way way ahead of the dx6r. For under $100 you can get a hacked radio with 8ch and more features than the dx6r. You'd think for a $500 radio it would be better, same with the new Futaba 7px. I'd love to have one of those two radios but they just don't have the features the Hacked Flysky has.

What features? I got a great deal on my DX6R and It has a ton of stuff it can do with crawlers. I do agree that $100 is a steal, but I use my radio for my race vehicles also.

The 4ws works better than any radio I've ever used. The hacked radio has mixes on all channels, Expo epa and everything on all 8ch. Plus momentary on most everything. One thing for sure is I only use this for scalers and crawlers and I use a Futaba 4pl for racers and bashers that can hurt people as I trust it's signal better. There is another thing, it holds 63 models and receivers are under $20 each for all of them up to 8ch. LoL one more thing, when you get into the sub menus and programming these things the first time it is very very aggravating, I almost beat mine with a hammer as I somehow mixed the esc in with rear steer, still haven't figured out I did that.

I have a 1080 in the CC01 in the video, but imo it's way too good to use as a winch esc. The 1060 works perfectly and it's cheap.
