Follow the people, not the brand. It's a better indicator. It's weird that people will follow directors for movies but often are not aware of game creators. I'm guilty of it myself. I didn't know who James Ohlen was until now despite him being in charge of some of my favorite games of all time. ME Andromeda had a clearly troubled development with the upper creative roster ditching the project so the warning signs were definitely there that something was extremely off.

I remember reading an old Analog or Asimov pulp book about a civilization that appeared low tech, but culturally first aid, basic medical/trauma training were mandatory like reading and writing or speech for children. So when the human ship causes a disaster, instead of thousands of casualties like the computer and humans predicted, they had only had like a hundred casualties. Minimizing the first contact mishap, and leaving the door open to diplomacy.

I never of this game until now and didn't know who James Ohlen was and that he's responsible for my love of role-playing games. 3. You gave goid, clear and concise information and a good narrative voice. 4. I appreciate tempered optimism. It sounds promising, but Wizards of the Coast makes me extremely nervous, especially after Larian parted was with them despite Baldur's Gate 3's success. Monetization and pricing could be a problem. The other is long term success of the game and whether it gets future expansions or sequels. Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro are not doing very well, so this very well could be a one and done thing like Baldur's Gate 3. However, Baldur's Gate 3 might serve as a good sign of that this might turn out the same way. Also, due to the failure of Starfield and the dissolved Mass Effect franchise, the field for this game is wide open for the taking. Fingers crossed.

The developers being excited about telling their story is unbelievably important and is the key reason big devs develop worse and worse games (and movies) over time. The teams shift around, writers leave, writers come on board, and you eventually hit a point where people are showing up to work just to collect a paycheck which doesn't lead to successful products in entertainment. Sure, there may be a few "hits" left in bigger studios, but everything will fall flat. Case in point, Marvel. The original directors of the late 2000s/early 2010s movies really cared, but they started pushing to make everything "tie in" for some giant overarching vision which kills the creativity and passion of creating a story and bringing it to life.

Neat idea. Presumably each time you return home following a journey then time will have passed far more quickly for those that stayed home. So, whilst you spent a short time on a mission (hours, days, whatever) your wife and children might have aged by much more, say a decade. Hence a way your choices can be magnified - because decades are passing not days and years. It could be a race between doing missions and time passing relatively so quickly back home, your wife reaching old age and facing death whilst you have only spent 6 months away. Nice mechanic.
@eastbow60534 ай бұрын
i doubt that you ll be having wife and kids cause that would suck really bad, travelers probably travel till they are 40 then if they want they settle down forever. When they say family they could also mean close friends cousins uncles etc etc, we do know that you are the child of a great explorer and founder of the planet i suspect that your father dies early
