I once was possessed by the spirit of Elvis. They had to call in a priest from Las Vegas. When he arrived, he was wearing a rhinestone studded jumpsuit and a cheap black wig with sideburns. He opened up what looked to be a guitar case. The priest pulled out a fried banana sandwich and he began hitting me with it and yelling "RETURN TO SENDER! RETURN TO SENDER!" I started howling like a hound dog but it sounded like strange music; like some kind of unchained melody. It was if I was the Devil in disguise. I then began writhing and convulsing. I was all shook up. This went on for about an hour until, finally, Elvis leaped out of my body. It knocked my blue suede shoes right off my feet. It was over. The priest was finally able to declare that Elvis had left building. But then he did something odd. He leaned over and whispered in my ear, "love me tender." I replied, NO! I'm an adult.

And the trouble a creative writer has is to resit the temptation of rewriting the entire concept of a 'god', 'faith and 'religion'. Something along the lines of a god who denies she is a god, faith into something where a person would entirely reject anything without proof - after all all good religions do need their sacraments - and finally religion, into something driving to test, to research and rethink if necessary. All thus taught by the teacher, the mother of knowledge and understanding, who as said, denied her own godhood. That sort of a crazy deal. Better yet if set a 'non-deity' was by the lore a rebel daughter of one of those existing, questionable gods. The trouble being that it might just be very dangerous a book, and some fool would take it seriously - instead of realizing the whole humoristic idea behind it all. Obviously science is no religion - nor will the fact that an atheist does not believe in gods, that can't be proven, make him or her a devotee or follower even of a goddess, who would be as described above - sort of honestly not a god - even if named Devina - which means 'god like'. Not even if she claimed all who don't believe in god's as her automatic followers. lol I just find that this topic would be funny as hell if written in right sort of a way, tongue on the cheek and the leg behind the neck sort of a way. Yet filled with real scientific knowledge and modernly acceptable laws, morality and such like secular humanism - generally what is good for people. Without any care to how possible the goddess side of it could be - after all - that is but a parody on all those holy scriptures were already existing stories about a god or gods are told. A bit of a study book really, in philosophical sense, but in a story form - on the gullibility of humans. Well the point being that this new goddess would be the 'last deity' - 'needed'. And one might ask, what's the point of the gods then - what explains the whole mess - re-enter the old idea about them playing a sort of a game between each other. Points gained by numbers of followers. Except that the only way to win, perhaps even unknowing to them - by refusing to play the game entirely. You see, collecting followers does not mean they need to reply prayers, help or anything of the kind - even if they can try various strategies. And after all, one of the best ways to do so is obviously allowing humans to fool them selves into believing - after all, that is the strongest sort of belief, most non-sensible and hardest to deconstruct. And still, there are people in this world who might just be like 'oh that makes all totally sense - the perfect religion for me'! Some even, if fully aware it was just some fun bit of fantasy for the author to chuckle along while writhing the whole verbal monster - designed to twist and turn the concepts.

@joeandersen274 So there is no justice in Christianity, it doesn't matter what you do right or wrong, all that matters is whether or not you "believe". Whether or not you're "forgiven". I like most non-Abrahamic religions better. But Judaism makes more sense - the original version - you're alive so long as you have the breath of life, when it's gone you're gone, dust to dust. Maybe we have some continuance, some justice, but not from Christianity or Islam. Probably just here and now; this is enough if you don't throw it away for some thing different.

Just broadly speaking, Socialism as a concept has only been around for two hundred years, so let us just assume you are right, and socialism *is* the root of all evil. Even with this in mind, Religion would still have hundreds of centuries through which it has tortured, raped, murdered, traumatized, abused, and brainwashed not millions, but BILLIONS of people. Now, to get back to what you were saying, what exactly are the "horrors" of socialism? You are telling me that the freeing of the proliteriat and the abolishment of a societal hierarchy is a "bad" thing? That for us to be bound by monopolies and for us to be forced to buy human necessities is an inherent good thing? You do realize nearly every authoritarian dictator was religious in some way? Hitler was a christian, Mao and Stalin both were extremely spiritual. Religion taints politics and leads to things such as fascism. Read a book, and no, not the bible.

Socialism creates monopolies. Corporations are socialist entities. Socialism is root cause of all evil. Religion would have NO power without socialism. It was run exactly like a Pentacostal church sermon: He began by whipping up the crowd (ALL fundies), lots of “Can I get an Amen?!”, and at one point, even chastised someone in the audience for talking back about how “tattoos are portals for demons” is in the Bible. The woman he finally got around to “exorcise” was a SUPER obvious plant and a horrible actor. The REAL problem here is that America just doesn’t have a positive or honest medical system OR general attitude about mental health problems, not when it comes to violent lunatics who go postal OR depressed folks who can’t cope with adulting, nevermind anyone convinced they're "possessed". This is the result: Millions of fundies who think demons are real and “The Exorcist” was a documentary. (Good job, Friedkin!)

Werewolf. Totally. But to the topic at hand - I once had to visit a hospital ER. I won't get into the diagnosis, but I was in the worst pain of my life. I was beyond giving a shit about keeping quiet and was rocking back and forth in my chair, groaning rather loudly. Now this was in the deep south, so someone, I believe this was someone working for the hospital, strode toward me, took my head in their hands, (without permission) and prayed for Jesus to heal me. This of course he did not do. When I failed to show any reaction, she gripped my head painfully tight and repeated the prayer, louder this time. The message was clear. Either I could find it within myself to fake feeling better, or she would rip my head off. I had bigger problems than getting into a religious argument in an ER waiting room, and didn't think I could press a case for assault. So I clenched my teeth and bit back the pain, going quiet for a few moments. This was enough to get her the fuck away from me, and an hour or so later I finally got the care I needed.

The whole idea of the Evil Satan never made much sense to me. A being who messed up all creation, and the supposedly all-powerful God just sat back and let it happen. This Satan rebelled against God (as the story goes), yet turns around and does God's bidding by operating Hell for God's rejects. This rebellious being tortures people for God, which seems more like being on God's payroll. If Satan really was on the other team, he'd welcome God's rejects and throw a festive party and make Hell quite pleasurable just to give God the finger. I just gotta say I'm loving the gothic background in the video. 💀🤘
@Hekaterian Жыл бұрын
You make an interesting point. People don't understand their beliefs or where they actually come from. In Judaism and some Occult practices "Satan" is actually the angel Sammael and Sammael is a loyal servant of God. He's just as evil as the supposed Lucifer but is on God's payroll and does all of God's dirty work for him. He is also the angel of death and is known as "the tester". He torments people to test their loyalty to God, just like in the Job story And his wife is Lilith who was actually the first woman, not Eve.Lilith supposedly fled the garden of Eden because she didn't want to have sexual relations with Adam and chose to copulate with demons instead.... Lucifer as a rebellious fallen angel is a later myth that originated with Christianity. Lucifer isn't even a Hebrew name it is a Latin one. That alone should tell you something.

As an ex christian i thank you for this video. Everything i have wanted to say for a very long time. I was born into the church. Woke up 4 years ago im 40 now. when i quit drinking booze and i had a shift of consciousness. Had been seeing the holes in christianity since childhood. I made dive deeper and studied my way out. When i was told about this channel originally from a friend about 2 years ago I wasn't ready. I was passing through judaism on my way out of religion completely. But here i am now. Still battling some RTS. But Embracing this lol. It seems something is deep and mysterious about the mind and consciousness. If god exists, its just our own mind. We all want answers to the unaswerable. Is science pointing towards metaphysics and the quantum level and understanding that more? Where does our energy come from? I digress. One thing for sure the church has no answers to real life. The bible is about astrology and the zodiac. Its is deeply philosophical. Describing human anatomy and the things of the physical world in a very symbolic way. Im getting into astrology now. The bible says god is light. Light comes from the sun moon planets stars... light is a form of energy. God is energy. What were the ancients telling us? Look up bill donahue. Thank for this video aron.

@DemiRurge Жыл бұрын
That's honestly very interesting, never thought about that. I think that the werewolf would remain unharmed, but then again we need to be specific about which version of these two creatures we are using. Some vampires are just zombies who drink blood and don't posess the ability to turn the bitten into one of their own, some werewolves are just humans who turn into a regular wolf that can sometimes talk.

When I was 16 my mother tried to force me to speak to the priest at the church I was forced to go to. (She thought I was possessed). Although she threatened to kick me out of the house, I still refused. Myself & 2 of my 7 siblings knew some things about the priests from the church since we were forced to attend catholic high school & the priests often visited. Besides, I had already decided I was not a part of the church b.s. So I had some fun being homeless flopping from one friends house to another for a few days & went back home. Mother let me back in & I couldn’t wait to be a little bit older so I could leave permanently & I did just before I turned 18. Fast forward to December 2006, I caught the priests name on the news & looked up his name. Turns out he was one of those kid touchers & had been shuffled from one church to another & his crimes were swept under a rug to be kept secret. There are several people suing for what he did to them. I couldn’t wait to smear that in my parents face!!! I knew better than to be alone with that guy. At the time he had only been caressing my hands & that was creepy enough 😡 My youngest brother’s class had labeled him “father hands”. Robert F Wyzgoski 1933-2006 EDIT: You look great for your age!!! I'm so glad to hear someone else say The Exorcist wasn't scary. I'm just a few years younger than you are and when I first saw it back in the 70's I had the same reaction. What's weird is Robert Wise's The Haunting scared me, but I think that was because it was smartly about things not seen, so my young kid imagination could be used to try to fill in the blanks.
@aliensoup2420 Жыл бұрын
It really depends on one's personal mindset - at ANY age. I saw The Haunting on tv at a young age, maybe 10, and was frightened by it. I was 16 when I saw the Exorcist, which disturbed me for a couple of weeks. I was not particularly religious, or knowledgable about religion, but was susceptible to religious ideas. The two movies take a different approach to the supernatural. The Haunting is about things we cannot control, while The Exorcist is about things we can control, but may not personally be psychologically or spiritually capable enough to control them. One inspires you to stay out of big scary houses, while the other causes you to question your own mental and moral standing - it is a personal challenge you can never fully rise above, unless you completely extinguish the entire notion of religion and spirituality.

@@aliensoup2420 I had a Catholic upbringing, but had parents that loved science. Religion was never forced on us, I never took catechism because of it, and Christmas time was so enjoyable I still love it until this day even as an atheist. Einstein was a childhood hero of mine and I wasn't even a dork back then. :D So strangely enough The Exorcist should have scared me more but I just found it unbelievable and slightly gross. The Haunting on the other hand gave me that things-that-go-bump-in-the-night frights which as a kid for me was spooky. The only 1970's film I found scary was Suspiria and I'm not sure why. That film gave me a few weeks of nightmares. Today I only find a film like Elem Klimov's Come and See frightening because it's based on reality. That movie will haunt you for weeks.

I saw the Exorcist on the second weekend of it's running in a large theater with 4,000 others. Nothing like that had ever been put on the screen before. The first horror film where a sweet young innocent girl became the scary monster of the story. I really enjoyed the movie, just as I always enjoyed fantasy fiction as an escape for a few hours. But, when the movie ended and the credits rolled, not a soul in the building was talking. Slowly, everyone filed out of the theater like silent zombies with their minds spinning from what they had just witnessed. Only then, did I realize that the majority in the theater had had their very souls rocked and they had been seriously disturbed by the film. The film didn't disturb me, but the reaction of other theater goers, really was very scary.
