I'm currently working the harvest at Lingua Franca, so cool they got you tickets and love your Sisters shout out! It's beautiful as is our Bunker Hill chard and our top pinots. What an event, so many star wines! Love Mayacamas, Bërgstrom, and Cristom too. Your enthusiasm pushed Trimbach CFE and Inniskillin even higher on my list!

Another great video. The NY Wine Experience is the highlight of my year. You’re definitely an athlete for tasting them all! For me, the wine of the event was the 2010 Haut-Brion. Hope to run into next year!

Great video Matthew! W.S. NY Wine Experience is a bucket list item for me. Though, the task seems very hard to taste 200 plus wines over 400 minutes. Great to see that they have plenty of exceptional wines to taste.

It is a challenge to get through all the wines!

Some crazy good wines you got to try. Really enjoy your channel. Happy you enjoyed checkmate! Their wine range from $85 to $125. They only make merlot and Chardonnay but there are some other wineries they own (like Martin’s lane and mission hill) with other grapes. If you every do come and visit us in Vancouver or the okanagan, I can give you some recommendations if you like

Great video! So many great wines and I love that some are actually affordable! I'll have to keep an eye out for some of these. I've actually had that Vougeot blanc once before, in a 750mL, so they aren't only available in magnums. Really great stuff!

That must have been incredible tasting all of those great wines from every corner and all types of varietals. The wines that are of the highest level give you almost a religious like experience in terms of how incredible they taste and what they do to your senses.
@drmatthewhorkeyАй бұрын
It was quite the tasting. However, tasting all of these wines under the gun of the clock does take the magic away a bit. Savoring some of these with loved ones is much more magical
@kennethbowers5840Ай бұрын
@@drmatthewhorkey makes sense for sure. Not as much time to reflect and savor, and more of a clinical type of tasting of each wine

You make me want to try some younger vintage ports. I attended a Decanter Masterclass with Bruce Guimaraens in the late 90's. They showed a 1985 Vintage Fonseca(around 14 years old) and it was almost undrinkable!! The experts on the main table(including Stephen Spurrier) were raving about it but my friends and I had these very quizzical looks on our faces!

@@drmatthewhorkey it was so completely strange as none of the elements had integrated at all! Understand that we all loved port but it did not taste anything like port at all!

Check out more Canadian wine! Ontario is great for not just icewine. Aside from the well-known Bachelder in Niagara, there are a lot of good 'Burgundian' wines in Prince Edward County: Closson Chase Pinot, Exultet, Lighthall Pinot, and Broken Stone. Also love the Melon de Bourgogne at Norman Hardie and the Bordeaux varieties wine from Karlo Estates.
