Hi Callum, I’m starting my SIM 2 in two days but I’ve been researching on the right questions to ask the brokerages I will be interviewing. I’m in the Durham Region and I have received my Police Record Checks and Judicial Matters report. Also, I’m about to register/incorporate my RE business this week. Choosing between Exp realty, international realty and right at home. Tough choice. If Exp had lower fees it would be a no brainer. Right at home has 350 per transaction and 99 monthly. International realty has no fees except 589 per transaction (I believe you keep 100% of your commission). Wish it was an easier choice. P.s. I thought we can’t put the term “agent” on business card (from your other video). Sales representative was what I thought we can put.

Yes for sure. I'd keep comparing if I were you and do the calculations on selling 10 homes a year. Or whatever your goal might be. eXp Realty long term with the ability to get to ICON agent status where we are at a 100% commission split as well as the revenue sharing along the way. You'll probably meet a few people along the way interested in eXp Realty that you can provide value for and they might join. The monthly fees include website/CRM all stuff we need to purchase. Few calculations for sure. Yes that did change in November of 2020. We can now use Real Estate Agent which is what everyone called us anyway lol

Hey glad it helped. Yes I am more satisfied what feels like everyday. Yes eXp Realty has a revenue sharing program. Nothing comes from the agents that join with you though. I don't know of any specifically no. I think there are some that only charge a admin fee. I'm not 100% on that though. I know some charge a yearly fee of say $1000 and a admin fee.

Thank you for the video. Very informative. Few questions: Is the mentor same as sponsor or both are different? Is mentor assigned once you join the brokerage? I have seen videos on KZbin for folks who were not assigned a mentor as there was none in their area. Also how to find an exp sponsor? I have also setup an introductory call with you for next week where I can ask other questions.

Hey Nitin. So a mentor is different than a sponsor. A sponsor can give you SO MUCH value for life and a mentor given by the brokerage is only for your first 3 transactions. It can still be valuable though of course. Reach out anytime Nitin. Although some agents joining do just put my name down when they join as their sponsor, most reach out to me like you are and I try to set up a Zoom meeting with them. Thanks for sharing more of these amazing videos Callum!! eXp model is unique and it offers a great deal of learning too. I am considering working in the real estate sector and curious to understand more of it. Generally, which channels are used by the agents and brokerges to advertise properties and could you please give some clarity on the costs of those? With reference to the current video, I'd just like to clarify (and that maybe an error) that the $17 risk management fee does not have "/month" mentioned, while you did count that in the monthly fees, so is it based on the number of transactions?

I pay $156/month as the tech fee that covers a variety of tools. You will also join a board local to your area. My board fees a month are $110. This is I think what you meant. This gives you access to the backend of the MLS and the ability to advertise your clients home on realtor.ca.

Being smart and testing everything until you have good results and can split and add more money to the campaigns that are really working. @@CallumMoorekw Yes, sure. I checked out the monthly expenses video, which is well detailed, and that gives an aggregate marketing expense at the end. It emphasizes that it's better to get a precise sense on the costs before starting out. And with that, I was wondering if the traditional marketing channels such as print ads etc. are a regular thing in the industry or rather, which channels, broadly speaking, are used more often.

@@sonam1189 Ok. So $29 per month is what you'll spend on Telelisting if your brokerage doesn't provide it. This is for cold calling. You'll spend $150 a month on print if you're ambitions. This is for door knocking. If you do a billboard, park bench or bus stop etc. that will have a wide range in your area. Then after that it depends how much money you want to spend on online ads. $10-$20 per day would be pretty good.

Sure. So when talking or interviewing the people you are going to join the brokerage with (your sponsor) just be sure to ask specific questions related to being brand new. “Is there training for brand new agents on the logistics and actions of working with buyers and seller specific to my area?” is a good one. I almost made the mistake of joining someone who just brushed that question off and basically said don’t worry it’s easy. It’s 100% not easy and there are a lot of moving parts. eXp Realty is AMAZING for all agents but yes as a brand new agent look for specific additional training to start. 👍

@@nischaymodi843 So many factors aren’t there...Of course our business will only compound over time but it’s kind of up to us on how many hours we put into prospecting for clients. Setting up systems from the start, aligning with the right people and staying consistent is all I focus on.
