Ryobi you guys really need to get the word out on this line up. I only accidently fumbled onto this only after I saw Milwaukee's Quik-Lok system. Just look at how few views this video has. This is a great system, but few people even know about it!
@joshuacox1559 Жыл бұрын
Same! I was interested in the Milwaukee Quick-Lok and happened to be talking to a guy at work about it who used to work at Home Depot. I was telling him about a Ryobi lawn mower that I wanted (which I just bought) and he told me that Ryobi makes a version of the Milwaukee Quick-Lok. That’s when I started researching the expand-it collection. I didn’t even know it existed.

Ryobi's Expand-It system has helped ease this old man's lawn and garden maintenance exponentially! I have two Ryobi Power Heads. One stays attached to the cordless String Trimmer and the other does phenomenal duties with the leaf blower, pole saw and hedge trimmer attachments. After mowing an acre of grass these fantastic tools run on a full charged battery with plenty power to spare! Well done Ryobi - WELL Done!

Just picked up the trimmer. Ordered it without a battery/charger, as my mower has two batteries. When I throw the 6amp battery on the back (on low power setting), it does all the edging my yard needs (I have a fairly typical in-city lot). A side perk is the blower attachment for my old gas trimmer works on the battery powered trimmer expand-it system. I have to say it is SO NICE not to have to pull the dam pull-cord to start a damm trimmer. No gas, no priming, no having to worry about how to place it so you don't screw up the gas engine... Battery power is the best power....

Would you recommend 40v or 18v? Which system has better batteries that don’t overheat or stop working. Concerned about long term use
@bikebudha012 жыл бұрын
@@PostprandialTorpor 40V is what came with the mower, so I got the trimmer that used the 40v so I could use the same batteries on both. 18v is lighter, and would work with more hand power tools. If you just have yard stuff, get the 40v. If you have a bunch of hand power tools, get the 18v...

I also have the gas, if you have it why would you go to battery just curious? They are the same, with us having the more powerful of the two options no?
@lunchbox39002 жыл бұрын
@@nonethelessfirst8519 Takes me 20+ minutes to start my gas tools. I like the instant on. For my leaf blower it would take me 15 minutes to get it started and up to power for a five minute job. Convenience.

do you have a video on how to free up the articulating head hedge trimmer? the power unit on mine is fine(tried it with a line trimmer motor also) and what it does, when cold is seems to work for a while then loads up the engine/clutch(2 stroke) until it basically stops cutting. i removed the gear cover and it's clean and plenty of grease still. would the issue be in the articulating joint or blades themseves (i bought it used, prior owner had it less than an hour use and was out of warranty or couldn't find any purchase receipt to return it..) before i go loosening the blade bolts, is there anything else to check?

I’ve seen a few videos and Home Depot reviews where the head shaft fatigues just in front of the shaft attachment point to the power head and the attachment shaft bends in half. Thoughts ? Thin shaft metal?

@MaxPower-zp7wy Жыл бұрын
What. We only have 18V and 36V in the UK. Also we need more reviews of the non expand it range. The 18V Brushless HP with 26CM TriArc cutting disc interchangeable to a 2.4mm line with bump feed spool. There is a newer 36V version with a 30CM TriArc cutting disc.

Are you ever going to sell the 40V Expand-It power head in the UK? My petrol/gas head died years ago. You can't get replacement petrol heads. I bought a mains-powered head to run them, but you're constantly having to avoid cutting through the cable! They only want to sell One+ gear in the UK, which isn't any use for my Expand-It attachments. If you aren't going to sell them here, is the charger one which will run with a universal voltage range? I don't mind importing a head with battery and charger, if I can simply replace the plug with a UK one, and have it work on UK voltage.

Spoke with Ryobi rep on phone. He said brush cutter attachment was not recommended for 40volt but for gas only? When I questioned him he stuck to that story. The specs in the Home Depot site say the 40volt models are compatible.
