If you are seeing this in the summer or other warmer seasons they may be the better time to get one of these. I looked for the 18 volt one and it is either really popular or some scalpers may have bought them knowing people will want them. I am hoping that they are only hard to get since they are on sale for $99 if they are in stock. I do have the Expandit so I got that attachment and it would be ready to pick up in a couple days. I also have the tiller attachment and it really does work well. It is not going to leave you wanting to buy a gas powered one so I figured if it works so well with the tiller it would be even easier for it to clear snow. I live in an HOA but thankfully this is not one of those awful ones where they seem to be itching to find the smallest things to drive you insane over. I have heard that HOAs can be just awful because of that. The only thing worse would be bad neighbors but I don't have that problem.

Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. kzbin.infoUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

I just love your videos Scott! The sound effects are calming somehow and probably my favorite part. Lol That being said, I have to say how entertaining this video was. I loved it so much I had to stop myself from commenting before it was over! First of all, how GORGEOUS is your neighborhood/view, covered in snow? Wow! Second, I can almost *hear* Michelle freezing! Lol I can't imagine her getting in her snow covered car. Well, previously snow covered car. 😉 Third, does your neighbor know you used him as an example of what NOT to do? 🤣😂 And lastly, that thing is so cool! I wanna shovel snow! Watching you speed yourself up and go around the corner almost felt like you were riding it! 😂 I just can't express how much I love your videos, but this one is my fave so far. How fun! 😁

Thanks for posting this. I hadn't seen many reviews on this attachment. I was also considering getting a paddle sweeper attachment or brush sweeper attachment, but haven't been able to find one that might be compatible with the Ryobi Expand-it system.

Big Ryobi fan here but for 2”-3” of snow I just use a 30” wide shovel and push the snow to the sides versus lift and throw the snow. I have the expandit system as well with 4 40v tools but not the larger 6 amp battery. Most are 2.6 to 3.0. Had two 40v batteries go bad over the winter and Ryobi replaced them as I had a receipt. Keep those receipts people. 8-)

I'm a Ryobi man, as well. I always check your channel for product testing because I trust your opinion. I have a small area to shovel, so a full snowblower is a waste, but this attachment looks perfect for my needs. Thanks again for testing and sharing this with us. 😁

No surface damage. There is a bevel plastic shroud the slides along the surface and directs the snow into the impeller.

Do you know if this would work on the 18v Expand It system? My wife wants a smaller lighter weed wacker and I'm a Ryobi guy. Would be nice to have for the day of snow we get in Seattle. We only have a 15ft ramp to our front door and maybe the landing for the back patio we care to clear. I was thinking if this and the brush sweeper and pole saw work on the 18v I'll get that. Otherwise we'll get the lightest weed wacker they offer and deal with some manual labor.
@DadItYourselfDIY2 жыл бұрын
Should work with the 18v, you probably will get about 50% of the run time. BTW, I'm on Whidbey Island, so I can relate to your snowfall levels.
@fmixthings2 жыл бұрын
@@DadItYourselfDIY Howdy neighbor! We're in Stanwood. Run time isn't an issue since it would pretty much just be the ramp, and even then I would like it if my wife could use it for herself when she goes to work if needed. She leaves around 430am and I'm sleeping so I can't help her.

it’s actually that slight lean which is horrible for your lower back. I had to replace a grass trimmer since the handle was too short and I had to lean while using it, once I was done trimming I could hardly walk. 😕

Several years ago I bought a similar 40v unit from snow joe to clean a path to my backyard and the concrete patio. Being older myself I fouind it too hard on my back and too difficult to control where the snow gets thrown since they have no directional vanes and simply blow it in front of you (and then the wind blows it back in your face). Nowdays, all my outdoor equipment is ego. I started with their single stage and upgraded to the dual stage unit last year. For smaller snowfall such as this though, I prefer to use the ego brush attachment for their powerhead. I find the brush cleans down to the pavement and you don't have to lift it, you simply drag it back and push it forward. I know Ryobi offers a brush as well and for snow under 1.5" it's a much better alternative to these little things. As for my snow joe, I still have and use it, works well for digging through tall piles or drifts.
@DadItYourselfDIY3 жыл бұрын
I may grab the brush attachment and try it out! Thanks for the suggestion!
@Kiaa56792 жыл бұрын
I agree. Ryobi should come out with a snow shovel with directional vanes. The new ego has them.
