Re Alejandra Abio Atienza's question: the correct word to use here is house. You could say buying housing is beyond... but it would be more usual to say buying a house/an apartment is beyond... Housing is synonymous with accommodation in this case. A good dictionary to check how words ares used is Linguee. I'm assuming Spanish is your L1, so you would compare examples with English ones. I would say the bottom line is *to* keep going... Very well-presented video with useful examples.

thanks indeed for yet another informative and insightful video) these set phrases do come in handy, both in writing and speaking. I derive great relish from being able to incorporate them gradually into my active voc. I have been giving considerable thought to trying my hand at CAE next year. Keep up your great work! what i particularly liked about this video is you making a reference to corona virus in descriptive examples ))

I'm wondering if you didn't make a mistake in the last sentence. I think it should be : The bottom line is to keep... I can swear blind it's what I learned during my English classes at school, though I can't explain why it's right. My teacher never corrected me, so that's why I'm convinced it's right to write it this way. What do you think? You're teaching others here on KZbin, so I bet you're experienced when it comes to grammar

"On my wife's arrival from her holiday in Schili-Chili, she stood at our home's door step, straight as a ramrod, and with full conviction announced her decision to never again go on any kind of vacation and stay at our place ^for good^. It took me by surprise, ^to say the least^, as I was expecting her to come back in a state of bliss rather than disillusionment. She took off her stilettos, walked into the living room, sprawled on the sofa and began describing ^at great length^ what exactly had happend during her trip. It was ^a good half an hour^ later that I realized I should already have gone out to collect our daughter from school. How could I have forgotten! Putting aside the whole holiday saga, we quickly made up our minds that we should go and pick her up together. So, we jumped right into our car and drove off at once. As she was behind the wheel, I asked her whether she would like me to turn on the GPS on her phone. "^By all means^, yes!", she replied. And so I did. But then the unexpected cropped up - the application had all sorts of strange and complicated menus and buttons, and using it quickly turned out to be ^beyond my reach^. ^On the spur of the moment^, I shoved the phone at the backseat and started giving directions by myself (...)" 3 more phrases to go (^as the name implies^, ^at issue^, ^the bottom line^); maybe someone would be willing to take it from there?👻🌌 Good night everyone 🌚
