Watched this again last night and noticed the 6 chords in the full first position shape are the chords from the key. Nice I assume it's the same for all the 5 shapes. Thanks again Steve

Hi Steve. Thanks for the lesson! I am a novice looking to learn the scales (starting with the majors) and want to use your 3 NPS fragment system. I know you use the fragments 1, 2 and 3 in order, but I don't understand which fragment you start with at different positions on the fretboard. Looking at your deep dive videos, it looks random (from my lack of knowledge:). Do you have a video that covers that? Thanks again!

Hi Douglas, Firstly you need to know where the root note is in the scale that you're playing. For example if you're playing in G major, then find a G note near to where your hand is. Then line up a fragment so that the G note is where the root note is on any of the fragments. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eITcpnV7mMlmodk Once you have that you can build up the shape around it. Does that help?

@@SteveGilson Thanks, Steve! That clears it up for me!
