Every person considering buying in Mexico needs to watch this. I have lived in Puerto Vallarta off and on since 1995. I have owned my condo for most of that time. I cannot begin to count the number of people I have met who came down here and screwed themselves over by making the assumptions and mistakes Sn Rodriguez is discussing.

Right on. Rodrigo is telling it like it is. We live in Japan, and the same stuff happens here. If you rent first, then talk to local RE people, you will get a far better deal than if you go to most ex-pat servicing agencies. We are thinking about retiring to Yucatan rather than Florida, where the family lives, and we will take Rodrigo's advice.
