IRCC just conducted its first category-based Express Entry draw today (June 28th) and invited 500 people from health occupations. Min CRS score was 476. In the previous all purpose Express Entry draw, min CRS score was 486. Next category-based draw will be on Jul 5th for STEM occupations.

4:50 Yes Canada is doing better than Europe/Aus/NZ in terms of cost of living. But compared to its southern neighbor, inflation and cost of living is still too high. I have spent 10 years in US and 2 years in Canada so far. In last 2 year itself, 3 of white Canadians in team left for US. When I left US in 2019, I was paying rent for 2 BHK of 1400 USD and it was 30 minutes from Boston. The rent of that place in 2023 is 1850 USD. In Canada, rents have doubled. Also, went to US in May 2023 for 2 weeks to spend time with friends. Most places the food prices have gone up by 15 to 20 %, but in Canada its 70 to 80% increase when compare to 2019. One of my friend bought a house 30 minutes from Washington DC in 2022. 4 BHK independent house for 700,000 USD and its a huge house. Both husband and wife have household income of 350,000 USD and live a good life. In Canada, tech workers are doing side hustles to pay for the mortgage, that too of a broken 3 BHK townhouse. If US removes its country of birth quota from green cards, many Indian origin people in tech would make their way towards US. Canada is only good for people who are refugees or not from tech.

No one has ever made a video on this topic detailed, I know that it highly depends on individual household to household and person to person but still an insight is much needed that how that should be done. there are so many videos on this...what exactly is your concern? with shared accomadation people pay per room to landloard so for example $600 a month for rent. Then you have to find a flexile part time job that will give you hours around your school schedule. You are responsible to keep your room clean and any shared areas i.e. kitchen would need to be cleaned after you use....very simple. Buy your own groceries. They will buy their own.

It is already in effect. Starting end of June, IRCC has been performing category-based EE draws based on prioritized occupations and French language proficiency. If you are the few lucky ones, you face with lower CRS cutoff score for PR. Otherwise, high CRS cutoff score (500+) or PNP.

Calculate your "would be" CRS score as though you are a graduate and working fulltime in your field. If your CRS score is in the 470's or below, you might want PNP. Ontario PNP (OINP) has stringent requirement for employers. Other provices have better PNP than Ontario. You can compare PNPs.

Hi Parul, My son is studying in toronto since Sept 21, and doing computer engineering of Six semesters, now he is appearing in last semester and will complete on Aug 19 of this year. Part time job he is doing in Windies. His academic record is very good say 3.9 CGPA out of 4. He is also in president list of college. Please suggest in which field he should apply for work permit. work permit is same for all - it has no specific field. Toronto is good for professional jobs - no need to move unless there is a better opportunity. check Software Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Network Engineer, Systems Analyst, Data Scientist, Cybersecurity Analyst, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer, Robotics Engineer, Project Manager titles for jobs

I checked DLI List, Computer Technology is eligible for PGWP in Quebec. Be prepared to move out of Quebec if necessary. Quebec does not subscribe to federal Express Entry. It has its own Quebec Express Entry and favors French speakers.

In commerce, you need good communication skills. If you are from India, you will have an accent and a different writing style. Language may not be your strong area based on Canadian standard. I recommend studying accounting. In accounting, they tend to judge you based on your work, not as much on your communication skills.

After getting your PR, you can finish your Bachelor degree paying local resident tuition rate. Work a few years, study and pass CPA exam to become CPA. There is growth in this career. Even if you have to return to India, it is still useful.
