EXPED Megamat 10 reviewed - Is this the best camping mat around?

Fed up with camping sleeping pads that are compact but uncomfortable, I've bought an Exped Megamat 10 for my motorcycle adventures. It's definitely not compact, but does it give a good night's sleep?

The Exped fixed my bad back of 10 years. I love it so much I contacted the company to make a mattress topper for my bed. So bloody comfortable!

Hi.. did u manage? I hv been using an old Rei sleeping pad (looks exactly like this exped10 just a little thinner) as my mattress topper for years too. I hv tried all kinds of mattresses. Nothing worked until I found this & finally can hv good sleep. Did they respond to you about making a topper?

Hest has a great sleeping pad you can get a 25’ or a 30” memory foam. And does sea to summit deluxe self inflating 30”mattress.

It's my go-to mcycling pad. Use a 60 litre dry bag that holds the pad, quilt, cheap Walmart pillow, etc. I keep the valves next to my head so I can adjust the firmness during the night.

Great review. I couldn't help having a "chuckle" at your "morning head" and the fact that the inflator that comes with the mattress looks like it could double as a sex toy. I've yet to try out my newly purchased Zempire "MONSTAMAT", but I will get back to you with my 2c worth. Great cinematography BTW. Maybe a piece on some video tips would be great too.

We do a lot of 4WD off road touring and I am waiting for the megamat max 15 to go on sale again. Tried one at our local camping store and it is amazing. 3 times the price of our current self inflating mattress but 10 times more comfortable an 1/4 the size when deflated. Great video.

Is this one hot against the body in summer weather or does it have good temp for hot or cold weathers?

Works well in hot and cold weather. I always use a sleeping bag with it 👍

Way too large for my motorcycle trips. You should try the Big Agnes Q-CORE deluxe 25x78 Insulated. This pad is much smaller and a great sleep. Try it.

I had a Big Agnes Air Core Ultra and a Nemo Astro. Hated both - uncomfortable and noisy. Super happy with the Exped and the packed size isn't a problem, even in the off-road stuff 👍

@@ridefarwide thx brother, i think you have finally made my mind up for me. I am a 4wd camper and just purchased a stretcher, need a little more comfort, was going to go an ultra light but they dont seem as durable, comfortable and more noisy. I have a 4wd as well so weight and size isnt an issue.
