Dont use the blacksmith, just create a follower with the skills and you will not spend money. Hated the time issue, almost lost everything. Barelly defeated some enemies because of the enemy archers were way too powerfull and the combat just starts. No reposition of your characters or to just put the archers in the back in the first turn. It is still fun and love the viking theme. Paid 20 usd for the steam version.

25 hours total and I wasted time trying to explore when there was nothing to see.

I dunno, for me the most annoying aspect of the game was the fact that one have to minimize all unnecessary stats of their character. Balanced stat distribution makes character less viable both in combat and diplomacy. Perhaps, that is why I had no issues with time limit. In first chapter I was really worried to get on time, but after completing all quests I still had time to go for a "clear all camps" achievement. And in second chapter, probably due to my lack of diplomatic stats, I had more than a month of leftover time after completing all possible quests. I played at no punishing difficulty level via making an alliance with the south dude.
