I purchased the Dickinson Arms Tactical Semi Auto with a 20 inch barrel and have put well over a thousand rounds through it with no problems what so ever. And the cost for this one including a second 28 in ribbed barrel came to just under 330.00. So I have a tactical and bird gun that can stand up to another thousand rounds with out any worries.

Because they're competing way above their price category. If people never gave budget companies a shot, we would never have, for example, the budget RDO market pioneered by Holosun or the chi-fi market, where $50 Chinese audio gear competes with $500 Sennheiser.

Or literally any older used American made store brand shotgun, if they want to go cheap. Sears, Glenfield, J. C. Penny, etc. They all sell for cheap and they're all made by the same big companies. Mossberg, Winchester, Savage, Marlin, etc.

Maverick 88's aren't great, they are acceptable. It would be better to get a Mossberg 500 or 590. You're getting a much better produced gun that will last a lifetime and work properly, the whole time. I have seen people have issues with mavericks occasionally on reddit. Almost never with 500s or 590s.

The 88 is by far the best inexpensive pump gun and if all you’re looking for is something to put a few boxes through to pattern and then hang on the wall it’s fine. Sure the 500 or 590 is a better choice if you have the money but it depends on what you’re going to use it for and if you think paying more than double the money is worth it.

I just purchased a nova tactical back in late December, I've put over 600 rds of low base,plus probably 100 high base buck/slug through it since then without any issues. I installed a vertical forgrip and a sig pistol light on the pump. And just drilled and tapped the reciever for a pic rail, still haven't picked a red dot yet though. This is the third one I've owned the first two were supernova waterfowl guns. I absolutely love the benelli action, it's probably the strongest 12ga action on the market.

My experience with the SXP hasn't been perfect. I bought one of their 22" or 24" barrels to go on a defender and I have to mortar the gun every buck and slug (birdshot was okay), so I'm guessing the headspace was wrong. And for the 18" barrel that came with the gun (which I've never had to mortar), I often get the round jammed on one of the lugs in the barrel when trying to feed the round in. They could have done a much better job rounding those edges so the rounds don't get caught on them.

I've had a M4 clone, the Canuck Operator for about 2 years. Put over 1000 rounds of 3 inch turkey loads through it and it hasn't had a single failure. Probably just lucky but its worked for me.

My Charles Daly 601 DPS was running perfect till I broke it. I replaced the charging handle with an aftermarket oversized charging handle and I ruined it. Benelli internal parts are not compatible. Under recoil the charging handle flies out so I'm still waiting for the bolt assembly to be available and I have to get it from New Zealand because they are the only company that has actual parts in stock for the clone. Mine still fires though with about 1000 rds through it I hear great things about the Four Peaks imports T4 M4 clone

Do videos on each of the Rock Island shotguns! It'll be an easy miniseries since they have 5 or 6 different models, including pumps and semiautos, that all take the same mags. They are also all made in Turkey, but RI supposedly has people sent over there to oversee the CQ department. So far, after many countless numbers of even the cheapest of shells, such as Walmart Winchester white and Federal red boxes, the bullpup semi has been akwardly flawless! Easily around 500 or so shells through it on the first outting, fresh out of the box, with nothing more than a regular function check! The little 5 shell mags are monsters to load though!

I purchased the Hatsan escort Tactical 12 gates shotgun in November 2020 and no regrets. It has worked it very well I have never had any issues with it. I know for a fact I have shot by now at least while over 500 rounds and no problems.

Stoeger are made in Turkey. They offer the patented (not copied) Benelli inertia action for under $700 with options for tactical, 3 gun, and hunting versions. Its among the best of Turkey has to offer.

Benelli, like Beretta, are made in Turkey. Stoeger has a deal with them for the factories' almost-good-enough components, then mates those components with other parts from sub-component licensed factories. Makes for Stoeger being able to import good stuff at a lower price.

Would love to see a Stevens 320 on here. I have ran one of mine super hard and only thing I have ever had was a loose screw on the ejector. I have a SDS Phantom P3 that I have never shot but trigger guards look identical to these Turkish ones. The Stevens has really impressed me and I have a few 590's a 500 and a 870 along with some other shotguns also. Shotguns are fun, I just can't have enough.

I bought the gun you are referring to I believe, it's an over- under made in Turkey (that I refer to as my turkey gun) and it has held up with over one and a half thousand rounds being fired. I'm not saying that if you get one it will or will not work for you as the one I have, but if it does you will have a great gun.

One of my shotguns is the CZ redhead deluxe in 20ga. I have never had any problems with it. Build quality is good, kicks out spent shells every time, and goes bang when you pull the trigger.

I took State Champion in trap and skeet with my Weatherby SA-08, and it's got "Made in Turkey" stamped on the barrel. Never had a problem with anything but unreliable reloads. Would love a review on it, as I've put nearly 20k rounds through mine and sing it's praises every chance I get.

From what I have seen regarding the Turkish pump guns, most of them are built on an 870 footprint ( with cosmetic changes) ,hence the commonality and compatibility across them. Would love to see you do a burn down on the Sulun Tac-12 or Panzer Arms M4. Both are Turkish Benelli M4 clones. A Turkenelli if you will.

Turkish man here. Adler is not even a decent manufacturer and it's brand presence is almost non existent in Turkey. There are so many better Turkish brands that are much more reliable and reputable in terms of quality. Cheers guys!

You should actually list the names here then of the better brands. From what i know there's over a hundred manufacturers in Turkey that make shotguns, rifles and airguns. In contrast, there's over a dozen that make handguns, of which everyone knows the largest 4 (Canik, TISAS, Girsan, SAR). The lack of name recognition and inconsistency in the shotgun segment is why the whole category gets a bad name, and haters will try to use their experience with no-name Turkish shotguns to try to shit on all Turkish weapons even the ones that are proven. Many of the Turkish shotguns that _are_ topnotch either don't have proper marketing, or they're re-badged under different names by distributors so the original name/brand gets swept under the rug.

If you happen upon a RIA M5, you might try a torture test with it. They don't make them anymore but used prices are about comparable to a Mav 88. They're heavily based on the old Flite Kings and are held in fairly high regard.

I think people would be interested to see a 500 round torture test of the Churchill 612(Akkar 612, CZ 612) type shotguns. These became super prevalent during the Covid/Summer of Love firearm shortages. At least in my area. There are a few reviews online but nothing too substantial. They seem to be of decent quality, although very lightweight and typically come in at around a $200-250 price point. Since this was one of the only commonly available pump action, self-defense style shotguns around during the 2020-2021 timeframe there are bound to be a ton floating around. Are they junk? Probably, but a true TFBTV torture test would really give a definitive answer. Thanks for your consideration.

I'm one of those 2020 Akkar 612 buyers. Very light, so it's got a lot of kick -- that's the main complaint I hear. Otherwise, it's the real deal. I haven't heard anyone complain about reliability. They run like champs.

Looks in my safe at my "cheap" Mossberg Maverick 88, all kitted out...yeah I'm gonna pass unless it's another Mossberg or Remington and even then it has to be because something like the 590 Retrograde or new 940 catches my eye. Also, that light primer strike issue and loading issue is a Hard Stop, there is No Excuse for this, my Maverick works every time.

Amen. Hard to believe a Marine prefers a Maverick or Mossberg or anything over a Remington 870. My 590A1 has a bayonet lug. Does that give you a Corp boner?

I’ll keep my trusty Mossberg 590SP. High round count and never a hiccup. 8+1 capacity and can throw rifled slugs a 100+ yards down range with predictable accuracy. Yeah it can double as a rifle. A shotgun can be a versatile weapon and when loaded with #4 or 00 buckshot it’s a fight stopper.

I recently had some Charles Daly pumps come in at my place. They looked good but I was inspecting one while selling it and I noticed that the pump wouldn't lock forward when cycled. Even worse, the locking lug was barely engaging in the recess on the barrel extension. Also, the new Charles Daly pumps don't have an out-of-battery safety. So, a novice could potentially rack the action and unintentionally fire it with the bolt fully out of battery. It went into the sendback pile.

An out of battery safety prevents the gun from firing until the bolt is fully forward and locked. Most guns have one. Without it, the gun could fire without the bolt locked, meaning the action will force itself open under pressure and split the case open, releasing the high pressure from the chamber into the ejection port. It's like having a blown head gasket in a car but it's way higher pressure and right next to your face

They’ve gone up recently but there are still some old Remington model 11’s and browning auto 5’s floating around for cheap. Old guns aren’t really yalls thing but it’d be interesting to see how one in decent shape compares to the budget semi autos in this style of testing.

I recently bought a Charles Daly 601 DPS for just under $600. It’s a benelli m4 clone, and man does it work well. I haven’t shot it a whole lot yet but I love it, and I’d love to see you do a review on it especially since I haven’t seen many out there

My Maverick 88 is a beast. Bought it on a whim for $120, put an ATI folding stock on it for small storage with a hard stock saddle and shotgun cards on the side. ATI heat shield with ghost ring sights that stay dead on and I run it ragged with hundreds of rounds on some range days. Would absolutely trust my life on it and I never intended for it to fill that role. Again, bought it with $120 spare change.

Great job as always! Love to see y’all do an ATA semi auto. I know they made shotguns for Stoeger at one time and seem to be a more reputable Turkish company overall than some of the others. They might very well fall on their face too. They are after all similarly priced to a gun like the Black Aces, but could be fun…
