Jay, I’m very skeptical about expensive cables, but I really appreciate your honesty about wanting to feature them because the videos perform well. I’d love to see your music server comparison. I use a few Raspberry Pis for music around my house-no laptops or PCs-just small single-board computers, sometimes paired with external DACs, other times with DAC hats. It would be fascinating to see how a high-end music server stacks up against a laptop, especially since I’m confident a Pi can outperform a laptop for this purpose.

If you’re going to compare a DVD blue ray player in a fare comparison, I would suggest the Magnetar UDB900 top of the line player vs the Esoteric. I think you would be shocked. The Magnetar is around $2,799.00

Since I am into building equipment. I would like to see an investigation of the parts cost inside this so-called esoteric equipment. It would be quite disappointing to see $5,000.00 worth of parts (or less), inside $250,000.00 amps.

The power cable comparison would be the most conclusive compared to a regular $5 power cable, I don't think there will be a difference, there is no difference to a regular cable as long as the normal installation cable comes from the panel power in outside the house! It would be good to have a comparison between the voltage filters that are said to recreate the AC sine wave, another snake oil....Anyway, you are doing an excellent job and I can't wait for all the comparisons you have presented!! !

I’ll go for the power cord. I already know a dedicated music server kills a laptop. Maybe doesn’t need to be as expensive as a Taiko but for instance my Grimm MU1 instantly puts to shame my dedicated Mac mini with upgraded PSU as a server. One comparison I would like to see not listed here is expensive audiophile network switch to a regular Netgear or Cisco for instance

I'm interested in the power cable and the SACD player comparisons (in that order). This doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in the music server comparison. As for your power amp comparison - should be interesting as the pro amp may lack juice and refinement. Truth be known though, I'm not sure what's holding you back from doing all four vids/comparisons (as you've said, it's good for your channel - and audiophiles/people love this sort of thing!). If it's fun - treat yourself (& by proxy, the fans of the channel too)! Make the vid (particularly the power cable one!) - you know you want to!😀

Server vs. laptop would be my first choice, but only if not running through Roon. There is a belief among some that the stuff Roon is running in the background has an effect on sound quality. Actually, that would be an interesting comparison itself.

Please spare us the pain of listening to the crown shrill noise! I would vote for the Taiko va. Laptop music server, but only with the laptop using HQPlayer app installed and properly set up in the laptop. HQ player would convert pcm streaming or file to DSd. Now, that would scare the crap out of Taiko. Since you won't be using HQPlayer, the the SACD comparison gets my vote.

The Kalista Dreamplay or Vivaldi One would presumably be better one-box SACD players than the Esoteric Grandioso, so perhaps compare those? Also, Gryphon works wonders with Rockports. Maybe bring in a pair of those puppies to pair with those Apex's.

Normally, the SACD comparison comes down to the DAC and if the Esoteric DAC is not superior, than Houston, we have a problem. I would choose the Apple Computer vs Server, and make sure you play tracks that are saved on the hard drive (ideally high rez DSD files).

I think any of the videos could be good. I'd say it would be good to add a third option for them though. For the power cord, to add a stock one for a 3rd comparison. To the cd players add a 50 dollar cheap blueray to compare with the other two. And for the streamers, add a cheap 150 dollar wiim pro or something like that to compare to the other two. So then you have ultra cheap, good quality middle of the road options and the the ultra high end. Then people would know how much improvement they get compared to each level of money spent. Just a thought. I bet lots of people would like to see it. Almost like the lamp cord speaker cable comparison.
