Yeah, Metro and Batman are amazing, all the complaints are just crazy, vr is at a high point now and people just have to adjust to the fact that vr in order to go anywhere NEEDS this push towards standalone, but i feel you dear complainers, i have a gaming pc as well and at first when they started pushing towards standalone i was disappointed, but c'mon how many people have a powerful enough pc? VR need to be accessible to everyone

​@@realizedvisions Bugs on release are pretty common in every game on every platform unfortunatly and vr is no exeption, they are maybe more common since VR is still more complicated to develop especially is a game is as good as Batman, i played the game a week after launch, i had a couple of bugs that didn't let me proceed, i just reloaded the last checkpoint, replay 1min of the game and the bug was gone, hope this helps!

I picked a great time to jump into the Quest ecosystem. Got my Quest 3 in June and have been completely buried in fantastic games to play and worlds to experience. Having only had a PSVR before, it was an obvious huge leap forward and with all the amazing new games that have come out in the past few months, I can't even keep up. So stoked with where VR is and looking forward to what's coming next!

All I can say is Metro Awakening is one of the greatest gaming experiences I’ve ever had. The negative reviews are complete insanity. It’s a full thought out story, that has so many levels of depth and emotion. I am an OG Metro fan so maybe that guided my belief, but either way it’s a powerful gaming experience.

The story is odd, good, but I was left wondering "wait...what happened to the other guys?" often. And you eventually notice the recycled assets that they try to disguise with different lightning. But yeah overall it's a fantastic VR game, especially considering it's less than half the price of batman, which was also excellent.

I think what's going on is that, since we get more AAA games, the older VR community expects "REAL" AAA and we mostly get a "works on Quest 3" version . For people new to VR it's just getting better and better, while the older crowd, mostly sees the limitations on the Q3, especially now that UEVR came out and the visuals are stunning within that. I also think that things like voice use and gestures etc. are way under used.

There is no need for voice, gesture, for jumping, for running around, its all gimicks. There is need for BIG, quality AAA games that everybody can play, while sitting down on a chair, i dont care for jumping or doing anything idiotic that looks laughable from outside, I wnat to sit down and enjoy a game. I feel like people don't understand that by complaining about big VR titles, instead of enjoying the new experience, they're hurting the growth of VR rather than setting a higher standard like they may hope. Someone might be interested in VR and never get one because of the complaints and if the market isn't there the progress will be stunted for longer.

I'm so baffled by the mixed responses to Batman and Metro Awakening. I bought Metro, binged it and absolutely loved every second of it, and I still cannot figure out the mixed reviews on Steam (though it actually hit Mostly Positive recently). Same with Arkham Shadow. No, they weren't perfect, but my only substantial grievance with the games is that they had to end. I would LOVE to get more of those games, whether through DLC or sequels! VR has never been so good as it is right now!

What is do hope is that we don't get too many Quest only games, because that is just selling VR short, make a PC version that goes all out and adapt it graphically for the Q3 would be the best way to go if you want to get the most sales, you could even in some cases make it pancake playable to boost sales even more and have the pancake community join in.

I think the issue you're seeing is that the VR community is split into divergent camps. People who're into say, physics interaction based VR, or people who want more gameplay mechanics, people who play their games on pcvr only, or people with quest, etc. We have a lot of games coming out overall, but for some specific groups they haven't gotten very many games aimed at themselves, or up to their (sometimes ridiculous) standards.

VR is confused because so many console gamers moving over that want high end CPU/SSD/GPU performance on a mobile OS platform. Try putting your Xbox or PS5 on a strap and attaching it to your head. This is what your expectation is for VR gaming. You are chosing linear/fixed option interaction with the world for better graphics and performance. Conversely, in VR, you are choosing freedom of interaction over everything else. It will get better. There will be bugs. As more people move over to VR and more money is available it will get better. It already has all of 2024

They want a peripheral that wirelessly handles the motion and the visual interface that connects to their PC/console, and a way to get more than 4 hours with the additional battery instead of a stand alone platform. Oh no, please, you have me slightly worried for Behemoth. I am absolutely planning on playing this on PCVR via Quest. And it would be a travesty if I got a less stellar version there. Let's just hope that it turns out as great as I expected. The snippet I was able to try at Gamescom was absolutely amazing! Other than that: People are always gonna complain. And while I didn't think Metro was (mostly graphically) as amazing as some reviewers made it seem, I was still very impressed by it and am incredibly happy with the current bunch of games coming out. And Batman had me really hooked.

As for the next big thing, I'm definitely hoping it will be Behemoth. I loved both Batman and Metro, and I'm looking for a 3rd AAA VR title to blow my mind this year. I'm also looking forward to Aken Age, but I'm not exactly sure what I think of that. It looks cool, but I'm iffy on the quality. Still I'm willing to give it a try when it launches. I'm just containing my optimism. I'm hoping Behemoth will be the Shadows of the Colossus that we're all hoping it will be. That flying Behemoth in the latest trailer looks awesome. I'm also hoping it has Cross Buy on the Quest/Rift stores. That would make my day.

Batman, im loving so far. Metro, production, acting, lighting seem yop notch. Immersion is taken out a bot for me due to floating hands and slightly awkward controls. But only started chapter 1 so ill save my judgement.

Metro Awakening have many similarities with Half-Life 1 and this is why I love it. It's even become my favorite game, not only on VR but to be honest it's better Half-Life game than Metro game. It's great for me and it's what I've expected but I can understand why it could be a dissapointment for someone.

It feels a bit like 2016 VR because it kinda is. Since mobile VR took of, VR was catching up just because everything was made with quest 2 power in mind. Games like Bonelab and Saints & Sinners 2 showcase this problem first hand. It will take some more years for VR Games to overtake Half Life Alyx i fear, but things dont seem to be as bad anymore. I really liked Metro for what it is, but i have to say the Hype for Metro was a bit out of controll and was to often compared to Half Life, so people expected the interactability to be somewhat on that level.

Just got to the final chapter of Metro. I've suffered through the horror that is the spider sections despite my phobia just because of how good the game is. Can't believe people are calling it bad... The spiders though. Omg. I scream and run through them as fast as possible.

More than anything, I appreciate your objective optimism. Your channel is great for people who are just excited by VR in general. So thanks for not pretending to be an a-hole for clicks. And if you really are an a-hole, then double thanks for pretending to be a cool guy on camera. Regarding the mixed reviews for Metro, I think it's a combination of expectations between people who came up using versions of the Quest as a stand alone VR device and people who came up just one hardware gen before, using PC VR, then stayed on PC for the higher res graphics. I think a high-res texture pack would do it for most people on PC. A lot of people who aren't specifically Metro fans are playing Awakening just to have something new, that's close to a AAA experience in VR. Fans of the series will know Metro for it's dark, dank environments and nervous resource management, not for it's graphics (though Exodus was a great looking game at the time). But people do seem to be losing their objectivity in general. If the idea that a game is "trash" takes hold with enough people who have enough followers, it can snowball even before the game drops. So often I find myself trying a game on GP or some other PC publisher's sub service that everyone said was crap, only to really enjoy it. It's not enough to make a good game anymore. Publishers need to start managing the social media messaging way in advance.

About the user expectations it comes down to this: If they tell us a game is AAA, we expect HL Alyx quality - as simple as that - (those of us who took the Alyx pill had our eyes and mind opened to whatt is technically possible) and then, we're naturally disappointed when what we get isn't up to its standards. Maybe they should just label these games as AA until another Alyx comes along. Or, we should just lower our expectations. Having said thatt, Arkham has the combat which is rally satisfying.

Yeah I agree kinda. I mean what is AAA. It's really just a budget thing. Still to this day I haven't finished HLA. I really got bored with it late game and just never went back. On the other hand I finished Arkham shadow without ever feeling bogged down or jaded. For me the better game is Arkham Shadow. But that's just me.

Given how saints and sinners played on quest I'd almost wonder if it just doesn't look up to par with the other games at that level coming out on quest recently and that's why they decided not to show it. The thing concerning the recent Big games is that a lot of people expect them to be AAA flat game level of quality. They are not. They are at best AA. Hubris had the same complains. And even if it was cool, Assassin Creed Nexus was low cost compared to the flat games Alien and behemoth won't be as polished as people think. VR is still a niche. The only way to have AAA games is through modding

yes, and still, if I had to make my top 10 favorite of games I played VR, it would mostly be mods; RE2 3 7 Outer wilds, Portal2 , Half life 2, Alien isolation. And some of the officials VR ports are also great like star wars squadrons or Hellblade And most of the UEVR games I tried were sadly more intererting than a lot of trueVR games. I'm pretty sure that most of PCVR players will say the same. I'm sure I will enjoy Batman, Metro, Alien or Behemoth when I will play them; I just already know that they are not big AAA games, especially compared to flat. And I won't complain for that because I know why it is. The industry is messed up because of the greed of capitalists that have no interest in video games and just want bigger and bigger profits

User expectations, at least speaking personally. HL: Alyx came out coming up on 5 years ago. I would expect VR titles to match, if not improve on Alyx giving the advancements of tech, but yet Alyx is still the benchmark when it comes to VR

for me VR is in a werid zone.... the complaints, the unrealistic expectations are from an age group in the middle... let me explain. if you are a kid you will love it, my daugheter is playing minecraft or roblox and graphics is very relative, they just play the game and enjoy the game as a game.... for my age group, over 40, we grow up with "few pixel on the screen" kind of games, we saw the process of extremely simple but very fun games and their evolution to 4k real life like graphics experience, we understand the hardware and we can enjoy the experience, if fun, regardless of visual alone.... the age group in the middle, saying between 16 to 26, they grow up with ps4, high end pc gaming, the visual are a big part of the experience and if a game is not spectacular is an automatic flop and disappointment, they can't understand why a game like HL:Alyx, a pcvr game made ONLY to be a pcvr game, is so good and a game made for a phone hardware can't do the same. Finally after years of hit and miss, very little hit and a lot of miss, we are in a time when we got very high quality VR games one after another and if you can't enjoy this games because they are not at a 4090 standard just quit VR gaming, unless untill Cloud gaming is not a thing

I absolutely will not spend a dime on the Rift platform. They have dismantled it and disrespected it letting games disappear or just not work. They took away our Oculus home, it's a straight mess. I only open it to play Asgards Wrath (prime) and Stormlands. I am NOT eager to add to that library as I am ready to jump ship on Meta the second a viable alternative appears. I will wait for the Steam version and if it never comes, I'm happy to never play that title either. You already know how disappointed I am with VR. I could write you a book on it. I have literally given up. I'm GTA all day now. I just started picking it back up for some Synth Riders. Sorry bro, Batman in the basement with no scenery didn't impress anybody. Only the youtubers and sycophants were impressed. The redt if us were like, spend money in a new HMD for this? Nah... that's why Q2 is still king. 🤷

I've not seen one VR creator compare Behemoth to God of War everyone compares it to Shadow of the Colossus. Metro exodus was too slow and boring with dodgy Russian accents it was nothing more than a walking simulator for massive stretches of the game.
