the sales on the ripcurrent 1299 and ripcurrent S 1599 are really tempting. I really need to find a job with a commute to justify the purchase 😀good power and top speed, big batteries, 9 speed cassettes, torque & cadence sensor, optionnal off road controllers

Good info Sir. Let me add that the battery I believe was designed in Gen 2 to be locked to the bike, with the On/Off button recessed to prevent someone from turning it on to activate the bike (and subsequently making it moderately harder to pedal it away). Deterrent perhaps. I also have the original Gen 1 batteries, and they have the button exposed as you suggested, so I think they changed it intentionally. Both Gen 1 and Gen 2 batteries are recessed into the frame deeply. As you noted they are large with a significant 19.2 aH capacity, so I think they did what they could. Second, the RipCurrent S I bought (the closeout priced one) came in three colors, and I purchased the Black one.

The freesky swift horse is an amazing bike, I have the himilaya and it's awesome and powerful. Swift horse is 1000watts bafang motor 20ah Samsung cells, 48v and can hit 35+ peddle assist and have 30amp controller u can buy plug and play.

@@Lxstking406 I did...here's why. 52v 19.2ah battery, cadence/torque sensors, 1000W nominal motor, hydraulic brakes, cargo rack, 9 speed cassette for $1900 - unbeatable value. This is my first ebike. I rode a cadence only ebike and compared it to the Rip Current S...huge difference in rideability. The Rip Current's algorithm makes for smooth acceleration and control. I replaced the seat and post with comfort options and replaced the squealing metallic brake pads with organic. I also bought an 8 amp supper charger. Very happy with this ebike...now it's time to ride!

The normal ripcurrent is only $950 right now, would that be a good deal?

It's a great deal bc you're still getting a 750w (peak of 1300w) motor and a 52v battery system (it's smaller than the Rip Current bc it's only a 15.2ah but it's still almost 800 watt hrs), hydraulic brakes, etc. If you're looking for a budget fat tire ebike, it's a great option.

I'm 6'0" and my LARGE one fits perfectly. Seatpost is only mid height. My wife is 5'6" and her MEDIUM one fits her just fine as well.

Can you adjust the settings so that it can go more than 30mph?

I cannot with my stock one. I also think the replaceable control unit only allows up to 30mph throttle or pedal assist. I bought a HyperScorpion that will in fact go faster than 30mph, but it is a totally different bike. I actually like the RipCurrent S better for a variety of reasons, one of which is to pedal normally, so being

How is this different than the current RC aside from color?

They are essentially the same as far as I can tell but I just checked and they have stopped selling the “close out“ model. The differences between those two bikes are subtle from what I observed and prob come down to the shifters, derailleur and possibly the brakes which could be higher end on the newest models.

100 miles, No, that is not a thing...30-35 miles at full speed and 50--60 on mid to lower pedal assists...It's a good bike though...

I have had many China made bikes and the upkeep is ridiculous. Stopped buying any China “assembled” ebike awhile ago.
