I’m a product of the Army from the 80s. We still were killing MCIs and then the early MREs. The MCIs we would throw onto a hot engine and warm the can up , but were stymied with MREs we needed hot water to soak the bag. I was a fiend for LRRP rations as we needed just enough hot water to do the ration.

Not sure if it’s a new editing style or just made to be a quick video but the all the edit jump cuts in succession were really messing with my eyes/brain versus the usual real-time/fewer cuts of previous MRE videos. Regardless-always love your content! That’s a rare MRE without any kind of dessert or coffee!

We lived in Yuma, on the Proving Ground where I worked, for a decade so my son pretty much grew up around Amry families. One day he comes home with five MREs. I said to him “Boy, what do you plan on doing with these?” Confidently he looked at me and said “Capt. (insert person) gave em to us. He said to eat them in order or we’d never poop again.” I just looked at my wonderful little boy and told him to have at it. He dug in… and I found the other four burying in the back of his closet three months later. I just hadda share… thank you for these! They’re PERFECT!

I absolutely love your videos lol, and I have some very found memories of having MRE's....my dad used to get me 3 cases a year for when I'd be out and about running through the woods and just having a great time. Now if I had to pick a favorite MRE it's got to be the Sloppy Joe MRE with the coffee instant type 2 the chocolate protein shake the shelf stable bread and if I remember correctly it had M&M's or something similar, and yes the little bottle of Tabasco sauce was still in it, I used to take the sugar pack that came with it and ad it to the Sloppy Joe main absolutely amazing.
@alaintrudel1934 ай бұрын
The fact that you eat all these MRE’s cold is pretty hardcore. I used to make sure I always warned them up any way possible. If it would just be used the engine heat from our section APC or my body heat. But room temperature cold. I had to be REALLY hungry. Maybe after a full night patrol. Canadian MRE in 1989-1992 where not really good. Especially the mac and cheese with green peas. Cold, the peas where still hard ( by not being rehydrated)

I went through BCT in OCT last year. I personally liked the chicken chunk the most but I rarely got it. Those teriyaki sticks though were the bane of my existence, I never liked them, if I remember right there's another beef stick but I cant remember the flavor. The cheese tortellini one is easily the worst if you don't heat it up and it has one of those tabasco bottles that often burst in the accessory pack thing
