This is an experiment challenge sent to me by a subscriber via Instagram (I am @the_atomic_shrimp on Instagram, if you're interested) to make a tomato-style sauce, without using any tomatoes or peppers (in fact all of the Solanaceae are excluded - so no tomatoes, peppers, aubergines/eggplant, and definitely no tomatillos, tamarillos, goji berries or cape gooseberries).
I'm using rosehips in this video as the primary substitute for Tomatoes - I'm not the first person to think of this - and it's interesting, because it turns out that rosehips contain Lycopene - the same thing that makes tomatoes red.
