Mine is zirconia but dental Insurance does not pay much Dental Insurance is a waste because of the maximum. I paid $8000 in premiums for 10 years and not worth it . I have a dental Savings plan but still the crown was well Over $1,000. For someone on a fixed income , the bill can be impossible to pay . I just do not know why so EXPENSIVE . Same price as my rent

This crown saves the dentist chair time so win win for the dentist Nothing for poor patient . The dental schools do Not do crowns

​@@gailcaplan7015because dental office overhead is very expensive 60-70% overhead , insurances multiple, insurance also cut into the dentist and only pays the dentist a percentage of treatment cost, the employees are skilled assistants and hygienists they make high wages so then after taxes are paid and licenses and continuing education,lease or building payment, student loans.. not such a huge profit for the dentist. not what you think. some car salesmen make much more money why not ask those guys to sell cars cheaper

A crown is SO SO EXPENSIVE . A big profit for the dentist. Some of your profit should be passed to your patient . Insurance is a waste and Medicare doesn’t cover dental. Seriously not trying to be rude but it does s highway robbery . I have a savings plan but still $1200 is more than pocket change
