I hate looking for jobs, jobs are dumb and all these low wage under $20/hr are basically rip off scams

I have had multiple jobs because I graduated during the recession in 2009 and took what opportunities were available, often part-time or contract positions. Having multiple jobs demonstrates my courage and determination. Additionally, the expectation of staying with the same company for 20+ years is increasingly uncommon due to layoffs and other economic factors.

So basically go back to school and get more skills? How about Corporations stop being so damn picky and train new hires? Most of these companies want 1 year of experience but yet HR ups the ante to 5 years as a way to shrink the hiring pool and find suitable candidates. Its a numbers game at this point! You apply to these jobs only to find 1. they say they pay 18 an hour yet don't specify HOW many hours they pay you for! 2. You get the dreaded two or third-round interviews only to be met with ghosting afterwards! 3. You go through ALL OF THIS only to find out it was a door to door sales position or they have you standing in wal-mart or sams club signing people up for Verizon phone plans. What do you lose at the end? Your sanity, Your Self-worth, and a Ton of Gas money for commuting to that JOB! And then you wonder why no one wants to work at these companies that play these WANTON games with Potential hires!

this feels so out of touch. I was complimented in an interview for my enthusiasm after the fact and still didn’t get the role. where are the livable wage jobs?

Talking to a guy who hired cleaners of private jets and other small airport jobs. $18 an hour and up. He’d feel lucky if 10 people showed up, applied or spoke to him. Once hired it was 50/50 if they returned from their first lunch break. Said that was the norm. I’m floored. HR guy across the bar raised his 🤚 “Yep, ditto here too.” I’m officially old! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
