Natsuki had a good point there, bringing shy people together to have them eat and drink together within a friendly little establishment, does seem like a great idea to bring them out of their shell, and like you said it seems like a great place to meet new people, and if you don't hit it off with anyone, you can just move on to the next little place. I wish more guides were as friendly and likeable as "Ricecake" he has definitely picked the right line of work. Thanks for the video! It was interesting to see that side of Japan, and the amount of work and care this channel puts into each video is amazing.

How to choose a good izakaya? A foodie in Japan over 25 years, living in Fukuoka. I’d avoid chain izakaya, try and head to a small one owner place, the owner prepares and cooks everything. Almost like home cooking. Chain places, serve a lot of frozen, made in a factory, delivered to the place foods. Small places, made fresh, usually local style. Enjoy!!
