Now all we need is a police force as responsive as the fire department... by which I mean they actually show up when you call them; and this city can re-enter the 19th century.

@@coryb7404 You post a lot of negative comments about Detroit. Why is that? Do you live in the city or are you a troll?

If Detroit keeps the black & white Democratic's from making any type decisions for the city, then Detroit will make a come an awesome back, My dad packed us all up and left the Detroit area back in the early 60s, would love to see my birth place be Great again.

It already has. And Detroit's problems had nothing to do with whether Democrats or Republicans were running it--that's a just stupid myth propagated by right-wingers---the city has always had problems no matter who the hell was running it. It's mainly been racism that has always held Detroit back---that's what caused the riots

Steve Wise bullshit! it depends on the corruption of the city and whether the economy was diverse or not, nothing to do with the name of the party running a city!

I’m white, born and raised in Detroit! The Westside! Not all neighborhoods are bad, the white surburban kids never accepted me as equal because I lived in the city of Detroit, my parents weren’t drug addicts either, my parents raised 6 kids, we had a large house with a yard fenced in that was paid off, people in my moms church wouldn’t visit us because they didn’t what they saw in my neighborhood.

That's very good to hear. I don't live in or near Detroit, but I have relatives there and hope they enjoy their lives there. Sounds like all the good stuff is just happening in the downtown part however.
