On 14 February 2024, Indonesians will cast their votes in the country's general election to decide a new president, as well as members of the national parliament and government councils at provincial, municipal and local levels.
The election further consolidates Indonesia's successful democratic transition (1999). But the nation remains far from achieving equal gender representation in politics.
