+gun gamers thanks for making joule creep easy to understand! Hopefully the fields near me can start doing crono in joules it sounds like it'll keep the game more friendly and safer for the younger crowd.

There is something to add on my side. Heavier bb´s are able to retain more kinetic energy throughout the trajectory. A 0.20 will lose more energy through the trajectory than a 0.40.

I think that is because the air resistance depends only on the speed of the projectile (shape too, but in airsoft we are only shooting spheres). So usually in my every gun I use BBs that come out from the barrel with 90-100 m/s if possible.
@michaelbernier69723 жыл бұрын
@@sogerc1 More mass in a bb is more momentum to counteract forces that would influence the bb path like air (resistance) or human flesh.
@anomalyp85842 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbernier6972 His statement is correct. The air resistance for same shaped bodies is dependent on the speed. If you are talking about momentum...it's from the BB's POV.

Doesn’t seem like a real works test. But it’s consistent with its self.

@ the games i go to in europe every gun has to pass the chrono test with the players own BBs. BB weight will be set and the joules tell if the gun is allowed or not. sometimes new ppl on the field have to do an extra chrono test @ 0,25g BBs.

Yep. The only thing I heard that sucks is when people still cheat the system. A guy was banned from local events after people complained for months and months that his BBs hit harder than others. Refs Chronoed his gun with the guys BBs from his mags, it passed. Took their own BBs with weights that they knew from before, not trusting the player, it passed again. It got figured out tho. The guy loaded .36s in his mid caps, and put 10 .2 BBs on top. Set the hop for the 0.36, and after each mag change just fired 10 shots into the dirt.

The more Joule the better or vice versa? For example, what is better, a 2.7 joule gun or a 3 joule gun?
@nathanfranklin64515 жыл бұрын
So the only way to intentionally joule creep would be to use a lighter weight bb to chrono, and a heavier weight bb to play right? Not planning on doing this at all btw, just got my first hpa set up and heard about joule creep. Still lost...
@sogerc16 жыл бұрын
Interesting, because I can see the joule creep in all my green gas guns even with 0.25. Maybe your gun is optimized for 0.25 and 1.2 J .Otherwise it's pretty much what I see too. The joule creep is higher if the gun's inner barrel is longer, my KJW M700 reaches out to whopping distances because with 0.45 BBs it jumps up to 4 J (from 3). But interestingly it's CO2 mags don't do it.
@T-REX19917 жыл бұрын
AMS does not chrono in joules. They chrono aeg with .20 and gas/hpa with .32 but still go off of FPS

I love this video. Thanks for the explanation. What's the supressor/chrono combo called? And how much does it cost?

So if my scorpion evo can lift the 0.46 bb’s it would should further? Confusing but chrono is always with 0.20bb from field even bolt snipers and such.. using 0.28 right now at half hop or so

I hate fps used by itself in shooting sports. It is only part of the information, like giving the rpm your engine can go to. Why don't they put a net on the speed tester and then weigh the bb? Because cheaters will just get a gun with a quick change spring and keep cheating. Even though it will prevent most accidental cheaters the added step in testing would take more time so they don't do it. Maybe a sensor that detects speed and has a plate that the bb hits that can measure momentum, and using those 2 metrics it will tell you joules.

I am dividing to pick up a 2.8 joules spring or a 5 joules spring from novritsch.do the 5 joules spring harder to pull back the bolt or 2.8
@theclash24 Жыл бұрын
5 is very hard yes...
@AkosiMRswabe4 жыл бұрын
That's why you need to wear protection. Don't play if you don't want to get hit. Cheaters will be cheaters. Even if you do it by joules if the players will not follow engagement distance somebody will still get hurt.
@briljant69236 жыл бұрын
how did u calculate the jouls
@democracy20054 жыл бұрын
can high joules penetrate tin can or galvanize iron sheet?

Yes...most vermin pellet guns are 7j guns for example ...
@highland-oldgit3 жыл бұрын
Did you have to change FPS to m/s in order to calculate Joules ?
@E33Tpro7 жыл бұрын
I think the system I know of here in Sweden is better, we chrono with the weight bb we're using.
@E33Tpro7 жыл бұрын
You don't, but if you chrono in joules it doesn't matter what weight bb's are used since the energy is measured and not the speed of the bb.
@nw44057 жыл бұрын
Some fields chrono you with your own mags and do the conversion in the US
@jacoblarsen46336 жыл бұрын
E33Tpro. Yes bb weight matters even if you chrono in joules. That’s the point of the video. Switching bb weight affects joules.
@dickiewongtk6 жыл бұрын
The whole 'joule creep' phenomenon is that heavier BB having more energy even when all factors are kept the same... so yes, BB weight matters.
@musician4453 жыл бұрын
What exactly is the advantage that someone looking to cheat is interested in? By increasing the joules that is. Does it produce a more flat shooting bb or longer range? If its only hitting harder, i don't really see how thats an advantage, it sounds like just being being a douche. XD
@BurnellBrownIII4 жыл бұрын
This isnt joule kreeping. This is just Basik math Bruh. There is a reason they rekomend higher weight BBs for higher fps airsoft guns. It takes more to push the extra weight as hard & as far.
