That's actually how they explain the substitution jutsu in the 4th episode or so when it first appears. So you're telling me that there's always a perfectly shaped log sitting around that you can go grab, just so you can use a transformation jutsu on it to make it look like yourself for the half second before it gets hit by the enemy attack, place it where you used to be, and then run back to where you found the log? And you do this without any hand signs, in the blink of an eye faster than anyone can see, and before you yourself could possibly have reacted to it, if you hadn't used this "jutsu" that's not really even a jutsu. Why don't you just dodge? Why does the substitution have to be transformed into you? Where does the log come from? I mean Sasuke's Rinnegam ability is literally just a more straightforward version of the substitution jutsu. I mean what even is the difference in practical application? But somehow one is OP and the other is just a weak jutsu everyone can use. The same thing with body flicker and flying raijin. How does any of that make sense?

@@KnuttyEntertainment In my personal headcanon, I believe they use small scrolls or an object with a storage seal on it, like Tenten's battle scrolls, only tinier. This would allow them to take their log/dummy out of their seals along with maybe some leaves or smoke and shushin away. For some extremely fast shinobi like Kakashi or Shisui, it would literally look like they teleported away and replaced themselves with a log, at least in the eyes of most people. This is the only way I can make logical sense out of the nature of the jutsu, given it's supposed commonness and easy-to-learn theme.

Shisui had a sharingan, that allowed him to see what he was doing. Remember why Kakashi needed Sharingan for Chidori to work precisely? Raikage's lightning cloak apparently gave him faster perception too. While Minato isn't exactly known for his movement speed, he's actually a bit underappreciated in that regard. He's the only one who had Sharingan-tier perception without chakra enhancements.

Proficiency with body flicker may be related to the user's reflexes. Shisui having the Sharingan meant he had naturally quick reflexes, the lightning release Chakra mode the 3rd/4th raikage used is said to increase the speed of synaptic signals within the brain which would amp reflexes as well. And it's well known how insane Minato's reflexes were. Also most of the faster characters in the Narutoverse tended to have the Sharingan or Byakugan.

Shisui would be like an Uncle to Sarada as Shisui and Itachi were like brothers. In this way Shisui would have been a brother figure to Sasuke also however he did not live long enough to have any impact on Sasuke. In one of the filler episodes of a "parallel universe" Sasuke joins the Military Police and joins Shisui and a team to defend a lord of the fire nation, thus Sasuke is trained underneath Shisui.

clay pollard Senju- they got a lot of Chakra and high stamina/durability (water and or earth release is common to them) Uchiha- they got a neat eye (fire release is common to them) Sarutobi- they're good at the whole ninja thing (fire release is common for them) Uzumaki- exceptionally high Chakra reserves and stamina and know many sealing techniques, also normally have red hair. Hozuki (or however the fuck Suigetsu's clan is spelled)- can turn their body into water for some reason using Chakra (weak to lightning release) and can use their fingers as a lethal water gun (water release is common if that wasn't obvious) Hyuga- got a neat eye too I'm to lazy to do the other ones that are obvious but you should know what the clans like the nara clan are known for. They got secret techniques and shit like that. Hopefully this answered some of your questions after a year or so

Shes a member of the otsusuki. They hop from dimension to dimension. They dont use chakra the way humans do, they ingest it, so they treat the god trees as we do normal trees. Kaguya arrived on earth, and knowing that the others will arrive at some point to ingest the fruit, Kaguya instead ingests it herself to gain the power of the eye in the moon thingy. She did not do this to prevent war like some think, she did this to create a white zetsu army large enough (white zetsu are created by attaching humans to the god tree, which then drains them of chakra over hundreds of years, rendering them into semi immortal husks) to defend the planet from her kin. Essentially the entirety of shinobi history is based around nothing more than 1 hoes pride.

As the god tree absorbs chakra, her assumption was that if she became 1 with the tree, she could reclaim the chakra her kids 'stole'. . . It kinda worked in a retarded way. . . Took black zetsu over 1000 years, but he managed to get the gedo statue summoned via rinnegan, recombine the beasty chakras, and get some dickhead to redo the eye in the moon thingy. . . The talk no jutsu is naruto's strongest jutsu with it he can make almost any bad guy have a change of hearth in a few minutes. There are different types of talk no jutsu like when he went to naguto and used his sage art: flashback no jutsu making naguto have a long flashback. He became good reviving the village but also cried like a bitch. The talk no jutsu also has it own dimension called the talk no jutsu dimensions and it can manipulate time as it makes flashbacks that last for minutes while a second passes in real time. Sasuke is the only one that once withstood the effects with give-no-fucks no jutsu. Even though it failed once it still is so powerful that it worked on kurama.

Just like the kakashi's chidori, which relied on high speed to be effective, so he needed eyes that could keep up with that rate of movement just to make the technique combat viable (or, "complete"), I imagine that Shisui being the only one to use body-flicker alone in combat to boost speed, has something to do with his sharingan. We already know that his mangekyou sharingan is special in other ways - I'm referring of course to his sought-after kotoamatsukami jutsu - so it's not a massive leap to imagine that his eyes are different in another way too. Namely, that they are just slightly better at high-speed tracking than other sharingan, allowing them to easily keep track of his own surroundings mid-body-flicker, mitigating the risk of becoming disorientated for a split second upon returning to normal speed, which I can imagine being the primary risk of using such a technique in the middle of combat. Of course, this is all rampant speculation with little evidence. But isn't that the game here? It seems to fit and I like it.

Regarding use of the body flicker technique for battle, I imagine that it had something to do with an aptitude for mapping complex paths for movement, especially fast movement. The path would have a beginning and an end, and be calculated with the speed of everything else in mind. Then just a rapid, calculated burst of chakra to fuel just the planned movement. They were probably adept at seeing combat in terms of these movements and predicting the angles to pay attention to.

+Swagkage the reason Shisui can use the body flickr technique so proficiently can also be attributed to his sharingan allowing him to analyze his own high speed movements. Sharingan and his quickness to analyze the situation, probably similar to how Itachi would analyze it, allowed him to use the technique in more flexible ways. It's a similar explanation to Kakashi using his sharingan to enhance his effectiveness and execution with lightening blade.

This jutsu when mastered is OP, same with Substitution jutsu which is derived from it, these give you the ability to dodge basically any attack you will come across, I mean they can be used basically the same way as Flying Raijin except you cannot go through things, but do not need to tag the location you travel to prior to the jutsu. It is like the base Sharingan, the buff to your eyesight and reaction time, combined with Genjutsu Sharingan, Izanami and Izanagi, Mangekyou never needed to happen to make the main Uchihas over powered, since the base Sharingan makes you a god.
