You are just delusional if you believe a man who has been convicted multiple times in court for being a liar and a fraudster. When you mentioned that Trump called it extreme, at the same time he also said that he doesn't know that is inside it. Those are two exclusionary positions, if he believes that it is extreme he has to know at least a bit about what is inside it. If he doesn't know what is inside it, he can't know that it is extreme. I swear all the people who joined maga have their critical thinking skills and Christian values go on vacation whenever their demigod comes up.

I'm waiting for someone to address the Project 2025 plan to end birthright citizenship as it relates to all of this incarceration and deportation nonsense in its pages. If the only citizens are those the government deems citizens, who then become the "illegal aliens"? Seems like the answer would be everyone else. That would make for some really, really, really huge incarceration facilities. You know, like... let's see... yeah, concentration camps. I came here from Colombia 1994 legally. Trying to bring family here legally didn't work for over 20 yrs. Our visa got denied so many times so many thousands of dollars gone. Now days people think I just crossed the border until I speak and they can tell. But now I can't get a decent job. If i do get a job, is assumed I am the cheapest labor around. DeSantis had crops rotting in the fields because he deported immigrants but had no actual plan beyond that. It was a PR stunt. THIS is what would happen, but far worse. Also, undocumented immigrants actually pay into Social Assistance programs without the ability to reap the benefits. So the amount of funds in that would plummet. If Trump is elected, he'll just sit in a room watching TV and directing the DOJ to attack all his perceived enemies. That's it. Meanwhile, he'd let all the donors and people involved in Project 2025 do whatever they want.

Many states have tried doing this in the past. Alabama tried mass deportation in 2011. The result was an unmitigated disaster where food was left rotting in fields because they couldn't fill those agricultural jobs with citizens, so they begged for the migrant labourers to come back. Doing that on a national scale is insane. I would like to reframe Project 2025 not as a dystopian but functional future, but instead as the longest suicide note ever written.

My grandmother and her four sisters were immigrants. Yes, true, they were Norwegian. But because they were Norwegian and immigrants, they were always very open to other immigrants, regardless of where they came from. (Norwegians are probably the least racist of all the European nations. They love meeting people from other parts of the world and other cultures. It's one reason I'm proud to be Norwegian. Oh, and how do I know? Because when I dated a man from Sierra Leone, they showed him every kindness and enjoyed his company just as much as anyone else.) But more importantly, I grew up knowing many immigrants and their families. Everyone was honest, hard-working and eager to make the most of their lives here. One thing that most Americans don't understand or appreciate is, as my 8th grade Social Studies teacher, Mr. Gorsline, once said, "America is the worst country in the world-- except for every other country there is." And immigrants understand this better than most Americans because they HAVE lived under fascism and communism and all the other types of suppressive societies. We are great because of our level of freedom. But that also means tolerance, too-- by ALL.

To pay for the deportations he'll raise taxes exponentially on the middle class while simultaneously cutting every single program to help the poor, of which there are millions in the United States. The idea that all illegal immigrants and other immigrants are working for below min wage is as ignorant as the line that servers make 2 bucks an hour. If immigrants worked for cheaper then we wouldn't see them driving large trucks, buying houses, feeding their kids...What happened was many of them initially undercut wages until they dominated certain sectors. At that point wages went back up and in some sectors exceeded the previous pay. I've met illegal construction workers who pull $20-25/hr and others who do side work like painting or working on cars for more.

Well, I am partially Norwegian and Swedish.. and let me tell you there was a time here in the USA, when my grandparents came here, around 1900 when the Scandinavians were also seen as undesirables, my father talked about he, his father, mother, uncles, sister being outrightly called ‘dumb Swedes’ and them being locked out of good paying jobs by the general US population…….so I have to laugh hard when now they’re saying they want immigrants from Scandinavian countries! I’m old …real old. I go back when schools taught me wokeism before there was such a term. In science class they indoctrinated me into believing that immigration was a reality for the entire human race. We were taught that as human beings we originated as an African specie. We learned not to be hostile to immigration because we understood that the majority of us ultimately immigrated out of Africa. For all of us this was our ultimate homeland. We came to believe that immigration and diversity was an acceptable reality. Welcoming the huddled masses yearning to be free made America what it is today. Both its difficulties and its benefits.
