I've been looking at making some little scenes using humvees that I want to "blow up" and I've been humming and hawing over whether to buy them or not. You've convinced me--time to just make some of my own! Outstanding work, as always.

When doing explosions like that, I recommend fiber optic fibers at the end of each smoke tip, some cut closer and others long, it gives the effect of embers/burning debris flying

This is excellent! So good, in fact, that it inspired me to post this quote by John Donne: No man is an island, Entire of itself. .. Each man’s death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee.

Nicely done. I tried that same flicker LED + cotton wool idea for a crashed and burning X-Wing diorama that I built. I had the same trouble with realism, ended up thinning out the cotton a lot, especially inside, making it a little thicker outside than inside. It worked.

Now this is different. Lol.looks like the one from the movie. Definitely Check It out. The bridge blowing up was pretty awesome for 1939. And on the armor? It was mostly Russian and German from the 1930s. Both those countries used the Spanish civil war to test out equipment and tactics.

This is really cool ! Perhaps the problem with the painting of the car is that the light of the explosion isn't represented on it so it feels like the car is not apart of the scene (excuse my poor French English, sadly I'm not Hemingway !).

3:52 Did he just say matchbox is the off brand company? It’s not, it started it’s own business but then hasbro wanted to take their idea so they manufactured the same cars, but matchbox couldn’t find a way to make the wheels spin smoothly on the cars so hasbro took their advantage, and they used plastic strings as the axles holding the wheels. Soon everyone thought they were original and matchbox was basically forgotten.

I grew up with Matchbox back in the late seventies. Hasbro and Mattel were nowhere to be found here in Greece at the time. So, while technically matchbox is not the parent company nowadays, it seems to me that it really is in terms of concept.
