Some restaurants treat waiters as if they're expendable. They only get their tips and no basic salary and they're told it is a privilege to have a job. A lot of customers don't tip at all, because they're under the impression that the waiters get a salary.

I wish you guys can comeand assist here in Bethal based Mpumalanga next to Secunda.We have chinese Supermarkets that are exploiting,harrasing women in their stores and we have videos where they are swearing at them,calling them black bitches,maghosha etc.We have tried engaging labour dept with no help and all the employees are nit registered and they have served the shops for years.i know a guy who got shot during a robbery while working there and when he came out of hospital he was fired for being absent without any compensation.😢😢😢😢

Yoh, they said they the DOL did over 300 checks in the hospitality industry., They not checking properly. They must check Pedro's, they make staff pay your uniform. When u start. Don't give u a payslip to date. Maybe giving out now. Staff pay for shortages big time. U don't get paid for public holidays, Sunday. No overtime for managers, biggest exploiters for the fastest growing franchise. U leave, they will put u on a red list where u will not get work anywhere. Pedro's HO is fully aware of this but will play as if they don't know to protect the brand. Company has the highest turnover where people run away but the company doesn't care because they are operating stores in the developing areas. I can go on but will not have space to write. Kzn DOL needs to really wake up. There is too much covering up.
