So Braavos is basically Venice ? ...fused with Rhodos
@GullibleTarget6 жыл бұрын
@Carlos Saraiva Braavos looks like Venice and is an amalgamate of the Venetian merchant city state and the trade fairing and tolerant society of the Netherlands during its golden age-which was also a save haven for refugees fleeing from religious intolerance in other parts of Europe.

Dubrovnik was also used for Kings' Landing, wasn't it?

@Carlos Saraiva I know, right? I have seen 'making off' footage of shoots in Dubrovnik and it is SUCH a beautiful city. I would love to stroll down those narrow streets on a quiet Sunday and let my mind wander

@Carlos Saraiva I don't mind crowds. I lived in London for a while. I imagine Dubrovnik to be a bit like Florence. But more crowded. I love to immerse myself in the hubbub of it all but, I do enjoy to have some 'quiet' one on one with a city.

@Carlos Saraiva Too 'tropical' and too quiet to stay for too long...and the whole vegan-thing😉 Qarth: A little 'big city', great architecture, many interesting visitors from the east and the west but never overcrowded. Although i do think, I'd end up feeling 'walled in' after a few years. I'm difficult. I'm very ambivalent on many things. I need to be close to the action, but I also need to escape from it and observe from a distance. I love warm tempratures but i need winters.

@Carlos Saraiva Your mention of Tahiti immediately made me think of those Tahiti paintings by Paul Gaugain?(sp)Have you seen them? Look them up if you haven't.I just realised that, Gaugain captured the kind of tropical peace, GRR Martin wrote about.

Enjoy! There's video about Riverlands on a channel, and in it there's review of the Twins. But you can wait for a week or two till I make a remake of it, cause there are changes to be made to it.

I am always wondering how a huge city in an exposed position like that, at the cape on the north western most point of essos, with a huge giant statue visible from the sea, could be hidden and a secret for centuries.
