Ride1Up 700 Series: go.ride1up.com/SH2d
In this Ride1Up 700 series review, I'm impressed with its value for money. It's got a powerful motor, long range battery, and comfy ride for various riding styles, all at an affordable price of $1595. Plus, it comes with fenders, lights, and a rear rack, making it a great choice for everyday rides. Strongly consider the step-thru version. Check it out if you're looking for a feature-packed ebike!

I purchased my 700st about a year ago. I now have about 2100 miles with no issues and a whole lot of pleasurable riding. Worth every penny. Thanks for your informative videos. S

Thank you for being one of the very few reviewers who will actually show the full capabilities of the bikes (true top speeds). Other reviewers are obviously scared to show a bike that will go over 20 mph throttle or 28 mph pedaling. Then if you ask them what the real achievable speed is on a given bike they will give you some canned lawyer-sounding bs 😑

Ha thanks! We still recommend folks follow local laws and regulations but in this case...I was just showing off what the bike did out of the box.

Thanks for pointing out the amount of control Ride1Up gives riders over the number and output of PAS levels. It’s something few brands offer and something I customized on my gen 2 LMT’d. I made the mistake of assuming all cadence sensor bikes controlled the power at each PAS level and bought one that uses speed targets. I bought it specifically to tow a cargo trailer (towing a loaded one with a torque sensor bike can be a lot of work). It threw me off the bike twice before I greatly reduced the speed targets for the first two PAS levels. Even so, the huge power surge after bumping up to a higher PAS level common to this power management method makes me go wide if I do it in the middle of a turn. Unsettling, and already replaced it with a Lectric XPedition cargo bike that uses the same management style as the 700.

I have the 700 in blue frame, mine came with Kenda tires. I replaced the hard seat with a Cloud Nine and suspension post. 3,600 trouble free miles and counting.

Have been reading, watching reviews, and researching for the last few months to buy my 1st ebike. I am very heavily leaning toward the LMT'D, but this video made me do a second look at the 700 ( both ST versions). Still think LMT'D has the edge for me, but the 700 is a very close second. At 68 and 5'6" the things I like on LMT'D are the weight (although when I add fenders and racks they get closer) and torque sensor (keep reading they are favored to cadence). Couple questions, how do the schwalbe tires compare to the Groov-E tires? Are both puncture resistant? I'm sure I'll hit you guys up with more questions from time to time. Thanks for your reviews.

A couple other differences between the two are air fork and a 95 vs 60Nm hub motor on the LMT’d. The air fork lets you adjust the cushion to match your weight and the higher torque can tackle steeper hills. The torque sensor will give you more control in tight turns and slow maneuvers, but you do have to put in more effort to get max torque out (unless you simultaneously use the throttle) to achieve top speed. You can’t go wrong with either model. Ride1Up makes nice bikes for the price and support is responsive.

if you want the torque sensor with the lmt'd then just spend a couple hundred more for the prodigy, it has torque sensor AND MID DRIVE motor! mid drive is so much better than a rear hub motor BUT it ultimately depends if you want your ebike to feel more like naturally pedaling a regular bike but with pedal assist ofc and the torque sensor, or if you just want to have a rear hub with throttle and have a delay in pedal assist with the cadence sensor. mid drive motors are easier to work on since the motor isnt attached to the rear wheel, plus you have more power when climbing hills and you get more power from your gears (although you have to be more careful with using the proper gears when riding with torque/mid drive motor since the motor is spinning powering the crank/chain/gears and not just the wheel like a rear hub) btw: i got the 700 series recently and its great but i wish i would have gotten the prodigy since i enjoy managing gear shifting and pedaling, plus mid driver is just more powerful and has better balancing due to being mounted in the middle of the bike)

I really like your reviews. I'm hoping to get hte Ride1up 700XR, step-over. I like the stiffer frame of the XR but I don't like the straight handlebars. Would it make sense to put the sweptback handlebars on the step-over frame? Is this a common mod??

I wish Ride1Up could provide a belt drive option to all their bikes. TBH I would prefer a single gear commuter ebike for its simplicity and less maintenance.
@reallifescience2069
@reallifescience2069 9 ай бұрын
Do you have a belt drive? It's so limiting. And belts add complexity. Removing the rear wheel, replacing the belt if it's ever needed. The frame needs to have a break in it. Chains require almost no maintenance, they're really not that complicated for the simplicity and gearing options.

belt drives sucks and single speed bikes suck for commuting. single speed are fine if you go riding around the park like a few times a year
