@cn78356 I hope so. And maybe adding some usable sidings. And hopefully VIA adds some service as well.

@CPRailRTC Well GO Transit will be going to Kitchener by the end of this year. And VIA has plans to upgrade the line anyway, and maybe add extra trains. They'll need to add signals eventually...

@cn78356 Actually there's also interlocking signals in London for the diamond with CP's Galt Sub

@chrisvazquez7 There are a lot busier lines than the GEXR Guelph sub that operate just peachy on OCS. A good part of the CP Transcontinental line through Ontario is OCS, and CP runs high speed, high traffic long distance lines with OCS quite well and safely. The CP Winchester Subdivision out of Montreal is a two-track, high speed OCS subdivision with *crossovers*. RailAmerica isn't going to be spending the millions it would take to upgrade to CTC. There's more to railroading than signals.

@CPRailRTC No I know. I've heard 2 eastbounds in the morning, and 2 westbounds in the evening. I understand the line is working perfectly with OCS, and it will for quite some time. I am just saying that in the future the line may be upgraded as VIA adds more service, as well as GO Transit.

VIA Rail has announced for awhile now that they are upgrading the line to CTC.

thats the only signal on the guelph sub
@CPRailRTC14 жыл бұрын
@cn78356 I doubt it. Installing CTC would cost millions, and there's no reason to.
@chrisvazquez714 жыл бұрын
@CPRailRTC lol thanks :P
@cn783565614 жыл бұрын
yeah because cn can't even have sidings that will hold a 15000ft long sidings
@CPRailRTC14 жыл бұрын
@chrisvazquez7 I wouldn't hold your breath...!!
@chrisvazquez714 жыл бұрын
@CPRailRTC I wouldn't expect RailAmerica to. I could see VIA getting funding from the feds though...

@chrisvazquez7 You're basing this supposition on nothing. Again, there is no case for upgrading the line to CTC. I've personally worked on OCS RTC desks with about twenty times the traffic that the Guelph sub has. Besides, GO Trains run every day on OCS territory with no issues. Besides, I don't know what you are expecting when GO starts running trains to Kitchener -- there aren't going to be daily on-the-hour 7-day-per-week GO Trains snaking their way west once they start running.
