Starlink says PD100 is required but you were able to use it without issues with PD65?

Yep we had no issues. PD100 may well be needed to cover the requirement for the Snowmelt though.

If you are hard wiring into a campervan or motorhome and want something more reliable and safe than a cheap chinese buck converter then Victron do a prodiuct. Victron Orion-Tr 12/24-5 Isolated DC-DC Converter. Its a 12-24V converter @ 5A for around £57

I bought Ugreen socket and the USB cable from the links. Unfortunately its very intermittent. Sometimes mini shuts down and restarts loosing connection and searching satellites again and again. I dont get why. Maybe the Ugreen adaptor i have is faulty. Sometimes it lasts a few hours without restarts. There is long run from my batter to the 12v socket but the Ugreen should up it to 20v so im not sure what's happening.

I had one of those power jumpers but it ran too low to recharge - which is a shame. Now I just use the 100W USB Option although I also have 200ah of Renogy Lifep04 Batteries that are linked together and have a 12v socket for when I am mobile. Mini ran for 10 days straight and I used 40% of the power bank

I power my starlink mini from my 36v stihl batteries from my chainsaw they are 335 watt hour capacity so I get about 12 hours runtime! When I am home( offgrid) in power it directly from my 48 v 25kwh lithium battery bank ..

Can you use it with a 12v, 12Amp hour battery? It's not 20 volts but most batteries are 12 v.

Yes but you’ll need to use a short lead so the voltage doesn’t drop too low.

Hi, if you are looking to use the 15 meter cable supplied you will need the input voltage to be higher than 12 volts. You have 2 options really: Power a 12v volt to 24 volt converter from your 12-volt socket - with a 5521 socket on the 24v out for the 15m lead to plug into. -12v-24 volt converter amzn.to/3AWEZl7 -5521 Plugs and Sockets amzn.to/3XlgAx5 Use a USB-C 12 Volt adapter from your 12v socket, USB-C to 20v lead, and 5521 couple to plug the 15m lead into: -12v to USB-C Car adapter amzn.to/4dUXdBR -USB-C - 20 Volt lead 5521 amzn.to/3XgsOa8 -5521 Plug Coupler amzn.to/3TgZ63O As the USB-C approach also gives you the option to power from other USB-C sources should you want to - that would be my choice.

No. Neither Starlink receivers (mini or standard) accept POE.

Good spot - I meant to mention in the video (but clearly forgot) that ours is a few years old and I couldn't find the same model available. So I have linked to one that shows as having a 15v 10 amp outlet. I'll update the in the video description too.

The power reading on these are likely biased unless you left the unit off for a considerable time between tests, I imagine all power solutions are 36 to 37 watts once the unit has already warmed up and all will require the same wattage if its a completely cold start.

Hi, yep for comparison we used a cold startup with a few hours between boots as that was more reproducible and consistent, without too many other factors influencing it. As you can see the dish was also always inside so the number of sats actually visible (none) was always the same.
