On the same day Sherri faked an abduction. Stacey Smart went missing that day, in the same area, and remains missing to this day. While Sherri Papini was wasting everyone’s time, Stacey Smart has been largely forgotten. Hardly any attention has been placed on Stacey Smart’s case.

"Keith Papini, Sherri Papini's husband, officially filed for divorce just days after she pleaded guilty to lying to federal officials about her 2016 kidnapping and mail fraud. According to Shasta County Superior Court, Keith Papini was also granted custody of their children through an emergency order." This pleases me greatly.

The husband when they said “we found who’s responsible” and he was so physically excited he couldn’t control his reaction. Knowing it’s all fake makes my heart drop for him..

mariachi music is when she REALLY gave it away 😂
@artyb27
As despicable as this woman is, I couldn't help but laugh out loud when the detective asked if she could hear music in the car and she replied "yessss.. mariachi music" as if that's what Latino kidnappers listen to as they're going about their evil business.

Rest In Peace to Stacey Smart, who actually needed the media attention and was actually missing during this time.
@leelee2925
The fact she only got a year and a half in jail is crazy to me

Imagine being that friend on the phone saying she was great and he was a terrible person and that she would never walk away from her kids like that.
@antoinehenderson1659
That childhood friend of Sherri's who brought up the possibility of her running away instead of being kidnapped was actually amazing.
@abethebabelincoln7960
it’s disgusting how all of her friends openly know how much she cheats on him and still says she’s all about family
@matheuslobos8179
As a Brazilian I always play "The Girl from Ipanema" loudly in my car while kidnapping someone.
@spiwolf6998
The scariest part is that people actually go missing this way. Disgusting that she would draw away police attention from real abduction victims.
@drelezar7745
The part about Keith not showing much reaction to Sherri’s interrogation… When I grew up with an extremely unstable mother, I slowly became very desensitized to her behavior over time. She’d break down crying and admit she’s a terrible mother so often that me and my siblings just stopped reacting to it
@miawallace2306
The foresight of the friend saying “She had had enough and walked away. But, now that this situation has exploded, she ‘can’t’ just come back” is as incredible as it is true.
@Naomi-Love2304
"We called her Crazy" 😭 She sure lived up to that name.
@kusovia1148
She shouldn’t be released she’s a danger to children
@MrContemplation
The fact you know she played this up at home and put her husband through a lot thinking it was real is absolutely disgusting.
@patton303
Man I feel so bad for the husband because he was legitimately terrified that his wife was kidnapped while at the same time, the cops and the public considered him the prime suspect.
@laughingtothebanklikehahah3618
Imagine your wife faking a kidnapping, ditching you and your family, just to cheat on you with a KeemStar knock off.

3 minutes in and wondering why the daycare didn't call the father to ask why the kids weren't picked up...
