Hi guys!
The other day, I stumbled upon some amazing figures and other goodies at the Ikebukuro Book Off. Intrigued, I decided to explore another renowned Book Off location. After some research, I discovered that Book Off Super Bazaar ranks among the largest second-hand stores in Japan.
In today's video, I'm taking you along on my visit to the Book Off Super Bazaar in Tachikawa City, Tokyo which is relative close to my house. Join me as we delve into the store to uncover cheap anime figures, retro games, phones, cameras, and other cool finds that might catch your interest.
I have included some prices converted from Japanese Yen to US Dollars, so please use them as a reference since the values may change over time.

i have a few questions. first, why theres so much items? i know theyre used but some of em even have boxes and seem pretty brand new. second, do people just drop em off to these stores as junk or they sell them here as well?
@4kjapanspace07

Hi! Here are my thoughts. From my understanding, second-hand stores in Japan are very popular because Japanese people often sell items they no longer use to free up space in their homes or to get some money back. It always surprises me how well they take care of their belongings. When they sell to second-hand stores, the products are usually in great condition. Where I come from, second-hand goods are often just junk and practically useless, but that's not the case in Japan. Some second-hand stores don’t spend much time checking all the products thoroughly, so they categorize them as 'junk.' Of course, well-known or high-value items are inspected, but usually only superficially to see if they work or not. That’s why stores like Hard Off or Book Off with 'junk goods' sections can sometimes have hidden treasures. To prove what I mean, check out my recent video, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKOznH2maquEbrc Sorry for the long response, but I wanted to give you a good answer to your question. Thanks for watching!

@4kjapanspace07 nah that was great, makes more sense to me now! yeah jp people are so minimalistic aint they? also, while typing this, i kinda forgot and at the same time got reminded that japan always has leading technologies so it would make sense that people would always buy newer stuffs so they dont get left behindthus the surplus of "older" tech even if its still relatively new.
@4kjapanspace07
@4kjapanspace07 Ай бұрын
Glad it made more sense now! And you’re so right, Japan is amazing when it comes to adopting new tech quickly, which is why you find so much ‘older’ stuff that’s still in great condition. It’s like a treasure trove for tech and gadgets! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Do I have to get a Japanese number to use transport services or will they be able to take the number of the hotel?
@4kjapanspace07
@4kjapanspace07 7 ай бұрын
Hi! From my understanding, you don't need a Japanese phone number to use transport services. All you need is data or a WiFi connection. If you need to provide a phone number, you can usually use your hotel's number. I hope you find this useful! If you provide more context, I might be able to give a better answer. Thanks for watching! I wish you the best stay if you're already in Japan.

Are the stuffs in Bazaar Book Off cheaper than normal Book Off store? Thanks!
@4kjapanspace07
@4kjapanspace07 6 ай бұрын
Hi! In my experience, Bazaar Book Off stores can sometimes have lower prices than regular Book Off, especially for bulk or clearance items. However, it varies depending on the specific items and location. It's always a good idea to check both types of stores if you're looking for the best deals. Thanks for your watching!

Hi! I'm sorry, but I wasn't aware of this figure, so I can't provide the exact price. However, I've seen similar figures in other stores priced between 5,000 to 10,000 JPY (approximately 30 to 65 USD). I hope you find this information useful. Thanks for watching!

Bro I’m planning to visit japan should I consider buying a ps5 from this store i mean is this trustable?
@4kjapanspace07
@4kjapanspace07 9 ай бұрын
Hi there! Regarding your question, I would say the following: 1) Buying second-hand items like consoles from BOOK OFF is trustworthy since they check the console and usually indicate any malfunctions or important information, such as warranty, on the price label. 2) If you have the budget, consider buying a new PS5. The current exchange rate of JPY to USD and the tax-free option can make for a good deal. 3) However, if you find a PS5 in good condition and at a good price at BOOK OFF, I recommend carefully checking the price label and its information using Google Translate. Also, ask the store staff any questions to ensure clarity. BOOK OFF also offers tax-free options, so you might find a great deal there. Sorry for the long response, but I wanted to make sure you have all the information you need for shopping in Japan 🇯🇵.
