There used to be a copy of an article in that bothy, by a local historian about the bothy and the ghost, in the same place as the bothy book. It was interesting reading. Strange noises have been reported by several folk who have stayed there overnight.

Yeh it’s basically an old house that has been renovated so people can stay in it. I think they are all free as well which is nice 😊

Hey there. New subscriber. Loving your vids. I had to look up bothy. USA here (don’t hold that against me haha) They are so nice. We have Lean-to’s on hiking trails but most of those are basic and that’s an understatement. Nothing like the bothy. Have fun and be safe!

Really good video mate I have subscribed to u. I am just starting to do camping etc as sadly my wife passed away so decided to buy a tent etc and am going to start camping etc do u prefer to go solo camping or would u mind some company as there is only so much videos i can watch before having the balls to go out and actually do it mate but yeah if ur up for company I would happily tag along. The scouting party wasnt real !! It was a figment of your imagination! It happened to me and some others. One party turned up at 3am and when the people woke at 5am the scouting party had vanished!

At onetime you had do a bit of research to find a bothy. Now there is a proliferation of books taking you to the front door

Yes. At one time you found a bothy by word of mouth then you had to find it on the OS map. Now you have glossy books with instructions to the front door. Like everything nowadays GPS replaces map and compass maps replaced with printouts with blue lines telling you where to walk Hey ho !
