Although the graphics are 3D, this is the 2D version. The maps generated by this part are all 2D, they don't have multiple floors. The staircase at the beginning is just a special starting room I made.

@@Vazgriz Wtf, your movement is happening in 3 axes, x, y, z, so why is it 2D? Lol Inspite of the fact that the 2D was used for random generation of the map it is still 3D. As I know, perlin noise is just a 2D texture but it is used everywhere, so every game is 2D? Don't think so.

@@oliverreviews8496 He means that the MAP is generated as a 2D object. As in, not multiple floors. There's a later video where he has extended the algorithm so that it can generate multiple floors with staircases between them. Those are 3D maps. The game itself is 3D, but the maps only span a 2D world-space in this version. As in, you will never find yourself in a room that is above or below another room.
