Exploring Abandoned Minecraft Servers

What happens when a Minecraft server get's abandoned?
Nothing.
Yeah...
...a bit anticlimactic.. i know..
But It's left just as It was the moment the last player on it left. It's stuck in time, forever.... or until someone new enters the server.... (forever sounds cooler though)
So I though how about we explore some of these living pieces of history.
What stories can we uncover? What can we learn about these servers?

If I have to guess, "server 2" itself is new & the owner(s) probably moved/copied their world file into this server. Using common sense, I highly doubt the one who placed the sign has any reason to lie about the date, because well, it's a dead/inactive server.
