You saw orcas?! You are so lucky! I feel like I've had so many friends go on these cruises and have never had that chance to see an orca. I don't think I've seen them in person yet, maybe one day... A little suggestion, always keep a high chair on the inside of a table, furthest away from server. This is just a precaution in case there is a spill while serving. Alaska is truly beautiful! Enjoy Uncle Mike!

This is such a lovely holiday, Alaska is a lot like the west of Scotland and the Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland Islands, minus the Glacier of course. If you ever feel like venturing over here I highly suggest coming around mid-summer. Anyway thank you for sharing this with us, I love getting to spend some time with you and the family during my week :)

I actually just got back from Alaska too! I was in Seward and did the same cruise with that same company. It was so weird seeing everything I'd already seen again, all the spots around the town (the Ididarod sign, the walk along the water, the shops) and the cruise ship, the margaritas, the glacier. I just lived it and now I'm seeing someone else live it at the same time...so many deja vu feelings here. So glad you had a great time! I loved Alaska and didn't want to leave. I already started mentally planning my next trip before I even left. Happy Anniversary!!

Happy anniversary! Alaska is one of my favorite places in the world. I recommend doing private boat tours if you don’t have friends or family with a boat. Also if you go back go halibut fishing!

I did that exact glacier boat ride and same thing happened to us.. never a good sign when the crew has to start passing out barf bags and ginger candy! Seeing the glacier was worth it though!

9:40 i understand the concern a little 😅 i went on a week long cruise the week before my 18th bday (we got back feb 24, my bday was feb 26) and i was terrified that i was going to get sea sick bc i had never been on a boat before. thankfully i didnt get sick even when the water got rough- it was enough that we had to hold on to the wall while walking or we’d just hit the other side of the hall & rocked me to sleep like a baby

Definitely a seasick gal here also. Now they have little bracelets to wear or a button type behind your ear to prevent seasickness. I can not even venture onto a boat without this. Plus a bag of ginger candy in my purse. Wind must be blowing in my face.
