That was an interesting mine! Those Swiss cheese stope-like mines are always surprising. You never know what you’ll find. Lots of random holes, pits, and tunnels going everywhere. That Dave Crockett cavern you found was cool. Another awesome video, Nick!

RAY-O- VAC began in 1906 as the French Company. Company had it's ups and downs. Changed name to RAY-O-VAC (for radio batteries) in the early 1930's. Then they also made flashlights and other things. Sold millions to the military during WWII. I had one of those big battery flashlights in the 1950's.

Cave In Rock in southern Illinois is the cave portrayed in Davy Crockett and the River Pirates. I don’t know if the movie was filmed there but it was used as a location in the movie Dig Two Graves. I have visited Cave In Rock and it’s pretty cool. Thanks for another great video!

Thinking about broken ladders and stuff, could it be due to people doing the rock test?
@Miner49er18 ай бұрын
Could be. Good point.

If you measure the width of the drill hole will give you an idea on the age of the mine. 7/8 to 1" would mean that they hand drilled the holes.

Not a battery expert, but 6 volt batteries like that were common in the 1950’s.
