I love when your intro ends with "...what remains," rather than "...what's left." There's a good reason for that preference. All my life (61 yrs now!) I've been aware that sometimes when driving down some roads, off in the trees you can see old dilapidated houses and other bldgs, falling down, maybe boarded up, just plainly abandoned, grown over, and forgotten, and always, all my life, I've always thought "I wonder what it looks like inside." So when I first became aware of the urbex phenomenon about 5-6 yrs ago, via, at first, still photos of abandoned homes and bldgs, I was immediately hooked -- then I learned there were videos of it, on KZbin, and OH happy day! when I discovered The Proper People, because you guys approach it responsibly, respectfully, with zero click bait, and never with an eye to destroying anything, but only with documenting urban decay, and having fun while doing it -- and trying to stay out of trouble! But still... that morbid fascination is there. That morbid fascination just CRIES OUT for "...what remains," rather than the very pedestrian "...what's left."

I can't fathom what this place could possibly be repurposed as. But there has to be a point where we embrace keeping buildings alive for the purpose of Preservation and Admiration! I have no desire to ride a rollercoaster. I do desire to walk the hallways and just admire the incredible ingenuity, engineering and art of what has been built! Pyramids are cool. But at what point are we going to embrace arcature built within "modern" record?

I love these old world buildings! The garden and the two glass houses were so beautiful. At 8:50 the lady from the drawing was a naval engineer and the man across from her was a cartographer. The details of their profession is in the drawing. They must have been the original couple that stayed in this house. 12:44 that was the music room. Not only do the musical decorations give it away but also the canvas and the tapistries on the walls had the role of sound dampening. In our modern world we use egg cartons or foam black piramids for sound dampening, in the old world they used large textile paintings... TY for making this!

I had no idea it was just painted until you said that. It's too bad they covered up so much of it. I will never understand that. A silver lining to those boxy, 'modern' rooms within the older rooms is that those box walls are likely protecting the architecture behind them to a certain degree. It'd be interesting to see what the old structure would look like were those newer boxy rooms extracted.

Monochrome painting to look 3d is called grisaille. And yes the hand crank lowers the chandeliers to facilitate cleaning and changing of candles/bulbs

What a stunning place, sad to see what is slowly happening to it. But such a treat at the same time. So happy it’s not vandalized and is being left alone. It would be wonderful if someone restored it

those nice cinematic shots at around 20:00 to 21:00 along with the great music by Anton Belov nearly brought me to tears. You guys know how to compose some fine art!

This place is absolutely astounding, it's a pinnacle. I'm saving this video and going to have to look into it some more. It should be designated a world heritage site. Usually decay is something enjoyably to view but in this case I don't like it one bit. The talent and workmanship that went into creating this palace really shows. I would've really loved to see this place in it's original glory. 8:10 I was completely fooled into thinking that was fully 3D detailing. I'm watching the video at 4K on a high end monitor. Bravo on the quality of that work. 13:00 Even if they're sold its they're being preserved 17:43 That's a griffon...I think 18:53 Chairs just chillin' 21:51 Absolutely for the chandelier, a least the original chandelier that used candles. But still useful for cleaning even after electrification, but the crank is modernized.

This is the only urbex channel I watch and recommend! I love the no nonsense, no clickbait and no "I felt a cold draft...its a ghost!" vibe of this channel haha.

that tile flooring at 3:40 in is nearly 3D. very cool tile laying with an illusion twist of diagonal steps.

What an incredible building! Someone clever and with money could turn this into an amazing restaurant, cafe bar. Can you imagine a string quartet playing, it all dressed up with Holly ivy and a million lights at Christmas. It's so big no one person could use it all but some could definitely be used for parties and events.

one word to describe this palace is breathtaking. i wish there's a way to preserve the structural integrity of the building while still showing how it's decaying
